As someone else has already said, this site is so good that you want to keep it to yourself.
It is SO peaceful. The only road noise was a couple of horses clopping by every morning. And yet in minutes, you're on the M6 or in Ilkeston if you need a supermarket.
Definitely wins the award for the prettiest chemical disposal area ever too.
Not one but TWO dog exercise fields. Only one caravan there when we were and they also had dogs but we let our dog play in the same field as theirs which was lovely.
There are an abundance of nice cafes in the area - The Old School House Deli was fabulous. Wanted to try the Cow Shed too but there wasn't time. Great walk to Dale Abbey and the Hermit's Wood and Cave. A little further afield we did Calke Abbey too.
We'd definitely like to return!
So good you want to keep it to yourself
We came across this adults only site just this year, it is one of those sites you wish you had found sooner! That being said we have visited 5+ times this year as it is close to home for a weekend break.
I recommend going through the village of Stanton by Dale rather than turning down No Mans lane (where the Sat nav suggests). The entrance gate has a number operated padlock which is given to you before you arrive. The site owners are only a phone call away and are very welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. It is very clean and well kept with 2 secure fields to let your dog have a run. There is plenty of space between pitches a couple of which are hard standing (some are sloping so you might need chocks) you will need your own facilities as there are no toilets or showers.
There is a local cafe within a short 10 min walk - dogs very welcome (The Cow Shed) which is a must for breakfast or lunch. 3 pubs close by one of which is a great 30 mins walk. There are some lovely walks from the site or within a short drive and I highly recommend a visit to Locko Park which is a privately owned country house but the grounds are lovely with an Artisan Ice cream parlour (Bluebell Dairy) just up the road from the main park entrance.
This is a gem of a site, very peaceful and reluctantly we can’t recommend it enough, it’s just too nice to keep to ourselves.
Fantastic small campsite
I really liked it here. Small, not too busy, quiet and clean. Other campers used chocks but I was ok. Dog walking field and the public footpaths are within minutes walk away. So great for dogs. I didn't get a chance to visit the Cowshed eatery, but it's quite close.
Campsite owner is lovely, excellent communication and facilities are good. The gate is a bit tight to turn but most caravans got in fine, and gate is secure with padlock, so I felt safe camping there. Would definitely visit again.
Going the extra mile
Aidie and Leslie Hall ' CL SITE' Moorfield Farm Barn near Ilkeston just 10 mins away from M6 .To the rescue 💪.. after parking on the wrong pitch, not the one we should have been on, because of the torrential rain, they helped us after a particularly heavy overnight downpour. Beautiful quiet peaceful site, everything you could possibly look for in a CL. Thoroughly recommend . Lovely people going the extra mile . Will definitely stay again on the way south and back up home again.

Stunning and friendly CL site
Great little site, spacious and beautiful. Communication and ease of entry was perfect. Really friendly owners too. I only stayed the one night but hope to come back soon.
Lovely CL site
Really lovely CL site nice and peaceful bit hilly on site we have a motor home only our 2nd outting no leveling blocks and realised quickly we need them lol spoke to owners next day and they lent us wooden leveling chocks he had made couldn't fault the site in anyway all clearly marked where waste and recycling is and the dog exercise areas are great well enclosed to your pooch is safe to run and explore
Lovely Site
Stayed here for 2 nights when we were visiting family in Nottingham. Really lovely site. Immaculate. Quiet. Peaceful. Very friendly owners. Close to Nottingham and Derby. EHU, CDP, fresh water tap, bins, picnic area, dog walking area. Great area for walking and watching buzzards and other wildlife. Will definitely be back.
Great place
Just spent Bank Holiday weekend here and will definitely return. Lovely site, and well placed for lovely walks. Exercise field a real bonus for the dogs. Very friendly owners, who have obviously put a lot of time and effort into the site and it is very much appreciated.

Perfect!
Moorfield Farm Barn had been recommended by a friend as a great location to spend time walking with our dogs. The site is beautifully kept with a large secure paddock for the dogs away from other residents for exercise/toileting with bin provided. Lesley and Ady are on hand if needed but happy for you to arrive and pitch up yourselves.
The area has lots of footpaths with some local features - the Hermitage and Locko Park as two we visited.
We ate out at the Cowshed and the Carpenters Arms on the way back from our walks and would recommend both.
TV signal great - a must that weekend due to the Line of Duty Finale!
Easy to find and good spaces between all pitches ( all electric) but make sure you have chocks for levelling!
We will go back. Thanks for a lovely stay.
Peace and quiet
This has to be the most peaceful CL we have ever stayed on. Lesley and Adrian go that extra mile to welcome you and make sure that you are ok.
Yes the pitches are on a slope so you will need ramps but easy enough to level up.
Water on each pitch and all facilities were well looked after.
Clearly a site run by owners who care. This can't be said for every CL we have used.
Certainly recommend the site.I
Cowshed just up the road good for breakfast and coffee/cake.
The site is also handy for The motorway.
I would recommend using No Mans Lane for final approach.
