C L Beauty

We booked this site for its location near to friends who live locally and found a gem. This is one of the most scenic C L sites we have been on and we use them a great deal. Just after we booked we realised the site had been featured in the CC Mag highlighting its shower block and we weren't disappointed (Even central heating within). The access is easy through a long drive but I could foresee problems if two caravans meet in the middle as passing places are sparse and grass. Its close to numerous attractions, plus for those who wish a very scenic drive from Castle Douglas to Dalry, then Balmaclennan and back. Near the coast and only a couple of miles from Threave Castle and Gardens. I give the site 4 out of 5 for two reasons. While we love the site and will without doubt return it is not, ( due to the Lochan ) child friendly. Its quite a large expanse of unprotected water and members should be aware of this. The other reservation is, despite the wonderful shower block the black / grey water disposal point leaves a deal to be desired as it is an open hole into the sewer, an old sink being the entry point and exposed to the elements. A surprising fact given that all other elements are top knotch. Overall a great site, well looked after and good value for money.

Great site!

Access to the site is easy (and we followed the tip of previous reviewer by driving on past for about a mile and turning at the roundabout and coming back down for safer access). Warm welcome given with advice on local area. Site is clean and quiet with lovely view for all of the fishing lake (though thanks to an otter no fish at present). Toilet and shower block excellent - relies on caravanners to keep it this way I think. Location excellent for Castle Douglas, Kippford, Rockcliffe, Kirkcudbright, etc., Also try to kite feeing at Bellymack Farm. All in, a great site and we intend to return.

best Cl

I am not a great fan of living in the field (done enough of that during my time in the force)I choose this CL for a 5 days stay because it has the amenities I required from a site. it a nice well kept CL by the owners Derek and Sheena, the sight surrounding the site is beautiful and it well placed for all outdoor's activity.

Simply the Best

We stayed here for 6 nights and we think it is one of the best CL's we have found. Beautifully kept and the showers were superb. Agree with other reviews. Views and surroundings were peaceful.

One Of The Best.

Having just spent two weeks at this pleasant CL site I can only echo the description given in the last review. If you are looking for a caravan site in the Castle Douglas area you need look no farther than Mollance Farm CL. Worth a mention is the Red Kite feeding station just a few miles away at Laurieston, the wild Kites are fed at 2pm each day and seeing 100 or more wild birds gathering in one place is well worth the visit. We will definitely return if visiting this area again.

Perfect CL

We have just arrived home from a weekend there & will definitely return. It is quiet and peaceful with lovely views from every pitch - we watched a large heron fishing in the lake, a coot with several chicks and a rabbit and her baby playing on the grass. There is hard standing plus plenty of room for awnings and the new toilet block is a delight - each of the 2 "cubicles" is a room, warm & spacious with a large shower and even shampoo, conditioner & shower gel provided. If approaching from the E (Dumfries side) the entrance is off a lay-by on the opposite side of the busy A75. It is definitely best to go 1 mile beyond, round the roundabout and back on yourself as otherwise you could find yourself stationary in the fast lane waiting to turn - NOT a good idea! Mollance Farm comes highly recommended.

A Gem

We also stayed at his CL in July and fully agree with all the previous reviews. We even had the addition of Molly and Skye, the resident Spaniels , adopting us for our stay. This was maybe something to do with my wife feeding them. A cracking site.

Peaceful location

Recently spent 4 nights at this CL. We like cycling & once you get across the A75 there are miles of quiet roads to explore. The grounds are well maintained with a lovely lake. We also saw Red Kites overhead. The new toilet/shower facilities are 1st class - hope they're still as good at the end of the season. The locals were very chatty & friendly & the qiuet roads made a very pleasant change from what we have to endure in the summer months here in Cornwall!

First CL site

This was our first visit to a CL site and don't know why we haven't done it before. Lovely peaceful site and Sheena and Derek are very friendly and helpful and their daughter who came across with our fresh eggs. The new toilets and showers had just open and they are lovely and big. Lovely walks for the dog. Wildlife amazing with Redkites flying around.Short drive into Castle Douglas where there is a brill Fish and Chip shop and the kiln ford farm shop lovely selection of meat at reasonable prices. Couldn't fault anything at site. First class had a brill week nice and peaceful.
