Absolutely Fabulous

This site is a GEM. Quiet, picturesque with the benefit of superb hosts - Colin and Ann. The site manicured with a profusion of sweet peas and dahlias. Altogether a delicate tranquil haven. I always erect a bird feeder station, this time a neighbour did likewise; we were rewarded with dozens of sparrows - the babies fluttering to be fed were a delight - the woodpeckers (green and greater), nuthatch and marsh tit were only outshone in display by the Sparrow Hawk. We enjoy the wildlife of Dorset but this sight has its own hedgehogs - we fed them (hedgehog approved grub) every night with lovely photo and video on the trail camera. Typically British we tend to keep to ourselves but Colin and Ann are so convivial that their morning coffee chats and evening soirée around the fire pit are an absolute delight. The highlight of our last day were tractor drives around Colin’s adjacent field on his vintage Massey Ferguson. If you enjoy the tranquility of nature, the expertise of skilled hosts, the Dorset coast with the added bonus of the Dorset art scene - galleries in abundance but do visit Dansel gallery in Abbotsbury and Sladers in West Bay. For tranquility of therapeutic proportions a visit to the Walled Garden at Little Bredy is my prescription.
