Beautiful CL

What a lovely peaceful, well maintained CL. Anne and Colin are fabulous hosts, inviting customers to sit around the fire pit and join them for a drink in the evenings, weather permitting, they are also around for morning coffee if you are up while they maintain the flower beds which are an array of colour. Anne and Colin are very accommodating, advising of places to visit in the area, then offering us a refund as we took our awning down early so that it was dry to take home, we obviously refused as it was our choice and I was surprised to here that some customers expect a refund. It's hard enough for these small businesses to survive and keep costs down. Will we return, Yes.

Absolutely Fabulous

This site is a GEM. Quiet, picturesque with the benefit of superb hosts - Colin and Ann. The site manicured with a profusion of sweet peas and dahlias. Altogether a delicate tranquil haven. I always erect a bird feeder station, this time a neighbour did likewise; we were rewarded with dozens of sparrows - the babies fluttering to be fed were a delight - the woodpeckers (green and greater), nuthatch and marsh tit were only outshone in display by the Sparrow Hawk. We enjoy the wildlife of Dorset but this sight has its own hedgehogs - we fed them (hedgehog approved grub) every night with lovely photo and video on the trail camera. Typically British we tend to keep to ourselves but Colin and Ann are so convivial that their morning coffee chats and evening soirée around the fire pit are an absolute delight. The highlight of our last day were tractor drives around Colin’s adjacent field on his vintage Massey Ferguson. If you enjoy the tranquility of nature, the expertise of skilled hosts, the Dorset coast with the added bonus of the Dorset art scene - galleries in abundance but do visit Dansel gallery in Abbotsbury and Sladers in West Bay. For tranquility of therapeutic proportions a visit to the Walled Garden at Little Bredy is my prescription.

Truly unique

Truly Unique. Just returned from a last minute booking at Mill House CL in Magnetron Bridport. What an absolute gem. If you like socialising with like minded people, great conversation and lots of laughs and a few wines, then look no further. Our hosts Anne and Colin were wonderful and made us feel so welcome. One evening Colin light the fire pit and everyone, people we have never met before, sat round, enjoying each others company. Some of us enjoyed a last night evening meal at the local pub “ Marquis of Lorne “ which was fantastic. The site is very well maintained, beautiful lawn and pitches separated by Dahlias and sweet peas growing up the side of the toilet building. Wonderful views and a peaceful location, coupled with the delightful Anne and Colin make this the perfect site for us. Thank you so much for a truly memorable stay, we will return. June 23;

We booked this site as we were visiting friends nearby.It was nice to be able to phone and speak to the owners when booking. Anne was very nice and friendly on the phone, and I had a good feel about the site even before we arrived. The site is nicely laid out, and kept beautifully by the owners. We were greeted on our arrival by Anne and Colin, and after a chat, we set up. We were in a lovely spot under some trees( which was a bonus as it was very hot) . We had a lovely view of nearby hills,and the site itself is not far from Bridport, which is a nice walk along a country road. Anne and Colin are a lovely friendly couple, and ( although too hot at the time) light a fire pit in the evening for guests to gather around. ( should they want to).We did however sit with other guests and the owners on two evenings( and a bonus as two guests sang and played guitars). It is overall a lovely site, ( and a bonus WC ) We will definitely return( I slept like a baby!,) and I thoroughly recommend the site.😁 .

Truly friendly reception

Colin Moore, the joint site owner with his wife, Anne, welcomed us onto the site in a very friendly and helpful manner. The site was very well maintained with beautiful dahlias all around the site. A very clean toilet facility. Easy access to nearby points of interest such as Mangerton Mill and tearooms. All round, this was a very pleasant experience enhanced by the friendliness of the Owners. Thank you!

Will be back.

Stayed here in May and September and will definitely be back next year if there is space for me. Very nice couple Anne and Colin who went out of their way to make me feel welcome. Even though I had a schedule in the first visit which should only have meant a 2 day stay, I kept adding to it as the site was so nice and ending up staying a week. Beautiful tended flowers everywhere and fantastic views of the surrounding hills. No rubbish collections this year, only recyclables which I was told about on booking and the complaint about the heavy toilet disposal lid that a reviewer complained about earlier has been sorted. See you next year A & C.

How lovely

14th June 2021. Gorgeous site in a wonderful part of our Country. Ann and Colin are wonderful hosts who could not be any more helpful if they tried. Look out for the blackboard which may advise of a fire pit night. A delightful opportunity to, in our case (socially distanced), meet your hosts and fellow guests. Lots to see and explore nearby, even a great barber nearby if you forget your trimming gear! Will be back again soon.

Great peaceful break

Visited weekend of 9th May and stayed on the hardstanding pitch. Fantastic views over the fields and valley. Lambs aplenty and all you can hear is the birds! Great warm welcome from both Colin and Ann, who couldn't be more helpful. Colin gave us great local knowledge to cycle peaceful lanes. Thank you very much - we had a great time Sarah and Annie x

Tranquility personified.

This site is a gem and at £14 a night unbelievable value. Well manicured field set with a superb rural setting. The hedgerows had blackberries and hazelnuts. The birdlife is second to none: Buzzard, swallow and house martins overhead and my bird feeders attracted: Siskin, Marsh Tit, Nuthatch, Coal Tit, Woodpecker, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Sparrow, Blue Tit, Great Tit. Colin has put a tree house in a small copse of fir trees. The owners, Colin and Ann, are attentive to everyone as well as the site which has looked beautiful through our visits this year - a two week stay and a one week stay - the dahlia beds have been stunning. I fail to see how anyone could grade this site at less than five stars as it is the epitome of quality CLs. Yes you could go for a sophisticated site and be parked close together and pay £30 a night but why do you want a communal shower block when your van is fitted out to modern standards. My shower is private and COVID free. Electric posts are first class modern safe Caravan Club standard. Fresh water and chemical points have sanitiser provided. Using the site last year we were grateful for Colin and his tractor as we had risked a late autumn break and needed a tug to move us off pitch. Walking the headland we went past a large commercial site - outfits, tents and caravans jostling for space with neighbours’ BBQ and children prime for you to trip over. Mil House has space and tranquility offering a therapeutic vacation. Incidentally, walking from the site offers many options within naturalistic surroundings. Congratulations to Ann and Colin for this beautiful tranquility.

Really loving site

Wow, what a lovely site. This site is really beautiful. Very well maintained with lovely views. Ann and Colin are really welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Bridport is approx 2.5 miles so a perfect location to visit the area. There is also Mangerton Mill which is not even 5 mins walk away. There is a cafe, craft shops and a lovely lake to walk around. Perfect site for either site seeing or just for getting away from it all. We will be back!
