A great site

We regretted not booking for longer than 3 nights as this CL is a really nice site and good VfM at £20 including 16A EHU. Bags of space with each pitch and the access route on carefully mown grass and the rest of the grass between and in front of the pitches left to grow naturally. Lovely peaceful views and walks around the fields. A simple but clean shower, toilet and information room which includes bus timetables and information about the site and area. We walked in and out of Bury St Edmonds which was tiring but delightful along the River Lark. The Abbey Gardens were particularly good as was the ice cream. The bus caught near the site made much quicker work of it which we used with a short bus connection to Horringer and 15 min walk to visit NT Ickworth. The NT website includes a bus App showing how it’s done. The return bus stop in Horringer is out of sight just beyond Meadow Drive with the shelter tucked into the hedge. We walked from the CL to the excellent Fullers Mill Garden which straddles the River Lark, is open on Wednesday afternoons and Friday to Sunday and has refreshments. A couple of the paths were a bit overgrown so we walked back on the road which was OK and took about an hour. It would have been an easy bike ride. We were blessed with good weather during our stay and hope to return to see more of Bury St Edmonds.
