Wonderful site conveniently close to Bury St Edmunds

Had a wonderful two night stop at Mill Farm with unusually good weather for late September. The owners are very friendly and the site is clean and well kept set among beautiful scenery. I've created another of my CL videos which can give a much better impression of how nice this site is. Feel free to watch it here and give it a thumbs up if you like it.- https://youtu.be/TuOBfTCeyCQ

Just what we were looking for !

Peaceful, pleasant site, pretty part of the world. Always something to watch, early one morning in the same field, we saw two foxes, muntjac passing through, three rabbits, three woodpeckers . Horses in other fields, and many birds. Bury St Edmunds , close by, worth a visit. Thank you Deenie and Philip for a brilliant week, see you next year

Just Perfect

This is a lovely peaceful small site on a beautiful farm, down a dead-end lane. It has everything you might want - a free shower with plenty of hot water, a loo, plenty of room between caravans and a lovely circular dog walk along by the river which takes about 15 minutes. There is a bus stop in Hengrave, which takes about 5 minutes to walk to from the farm, with buses every half hour or so to Bury St Edmunds and beyond - I'm not sure where the bus goes in the other direction. There's plenty to do in the area. We spent a day touring the 'Wool Towns' including Lavenham and Clare which are absolutely beautiful, a day at the amazing Sutton Hoo and Framlingham (magnificent castle and location of the wonderful TV series 'The Directorists'), a day in Bury St Edmunds on market day, amongst other days out. As we have two dogs we booked a recommended dog sitter for one day at her home just outside Bury St Edmunds so we could visit a few places without being hindered by the dogs. There's a pub within a couple of miles - the Three Kings -but not really walkable. Highly recommended.

Clean and peaceful site.

Stayed here for a week and had glorious wall-to-wall sunshine; that always helps. Site (pitch, loo, shower, etc) was all very tidy and owner was pleasant. We were serenaded by the cuckoo all day long and on one of walks by the river we saw a kingfisher and the cuckoo himself. Lovely peaceful site, helped by the fact that children were not allowed but dogs are!!

Perfect small site

This is what CL sites are all about - a lovely location close to Bury St. Edmunds (which has dedicated motorhome parking at the Ram Meadow car park) and the Suffolk countryside. The pitches are level and well spaced, and despite the rain no problems getting on and off the site. The facilities are exactly what is needed - along with a friendly and helpful welcome. It is well kept and peaceful and I don’t think anyone would be disappointed with a stay here. I look forward to going back.

One of the Best!

Mill Farm is one of the best CL sites we have ever seen. Immaculately kept, spacious, peaceful with a nice outlook across meadows and grazing horses, every pitch is generous and each separated by a wild grass and flower area.  Pitches are all nice and level and access is easy.

A spotless shower and toilet block are useful and there is much information on the local area. Deenie & Philip are wonderful hosts, with just the right balance of attentiveness but without intrusion.

If you want absolute peace and quiet just 10 minutes from the historic old town of Bury St Edmunds, and in the middle of the beautiful county of Suffolk, this will be hard to beat. This was our third visit and we are never disappointed.

Unfortunately, Mill Farm had a good number of really excellent reviews built up over quite a period, but somehow all these were lost during the Caravan & Motorhome Club website revamp – a real pity as Deenie & Philip worked very hard for those and they have gone forever apparently. Take it from us – this is one of the very best sites anywhere.
