A little underwhelmed.

A bit of a disappointment. Stayed 3 nights in October - we appreciated the hardstanding and the toilet and shower facilities (if required) but we were left underwhelmed. The road is c. 50m away and although it has relatively few vehicles on it there is an appreciable proportion of heavy lorries and agricultural vehicles that crash and bang noisily on the poor surface. We were woken at 5am on one morning and at just before 6 on the other 2 mornings. The Chef on the site only worked (until 3.30 ish) on weekends and when a tournament might be on so snacks only available for most of the time. The walk to Mattishall is fine in the daylight but the last third to half a mile back has no pavement and no street lighting so was not something we wanted to do after dark, so missed out on eating in the pub also. On the plus side we saw a barn owl and had deer close by and was great for cycling from.

SPLENDID ISOLATION

Have stayed here twice in the last month on both occasions were the only ones staying this we found uprising as its a really nice site . The five pitches are generous in size and all hard standing accessed from a ravel driveway in a two to three acre field of mown grass The golf club clubhouse has toilets and showers available during the day and also a cafe serving drinks and snacks. At the other end of the golf club carpark is the golf academy building which also has a bar and cafe with a more extensive menu. This is one of the best CLs we have stayed at , the staff were very helpful and friendly and we would recommend it to anyone who enjoys peace and quiet in the Norfolk countryside

Mattishall Golf Club

We stayed on this CL in February 2024. The access roads were easy to manoeuvre with a twin axle caravan, and the site entrance was well signed with a good wide entrance. A friendly welcome upon arrival. Pitches are hardstanding with grass which was very welcome as it was particularly wet during our stay. Very quiet at night, just owls. The only negatives about this nice site is random vehicles offloading rubbish into the bins during the early hours of the morning, and the disappointingly grubby state of the elsan point, not the fault of the site owners, but disgusting, lazy people who cannot be bothered to rinse the emptying point after they've used it. The rinsing hose pipe was black with mildew, could do with a clean up from time to time. Everything else in the service area was good. Lots to do in the area, we would definately return

Quiet Site

Booked this site as we are working the Christmas Event at Norwich Showground. What a gem of a site this is only noise at night is the Owls hooting. A very warm welcome we had when we booked in the explanation of all the facilities was excellent by the young man who booked us in. Communication by the owner Debbie is first class cannot fault anything with this site. Hard standing pitches with electric bar open at certain times nine hole golf course this is a quiet location with excellent facilities. This site is excellent for shopping in Norwich or the coast is not far away. We will be back that’s foreshore

Last Minute Booking

This is a great site. Easy to get to via the A47, I've a twin axle Sterling and no problem at all. The pitches are immaculate and all hardstanding and in a row that back onto trees, you'll hear the occasional thwack of a golf ball. No road noise. All pitches have ehu, the facilities in the clubhouse are superb. The water and waste area is a max of 50 yards away. I had to book this on my day of arrival and the guys on reception were great, nothing was a problem. All in all a great stay and the best of the many CLs I've visited.

Excellent site

We are just back from an extended weekend stay at this lovely site. We were made to feel very welcome, all the staff that we dealt with were friendly and helpful. The site is spotless as are the facilities. EHU to each pitch and water and waste close by. The showers and toilets are in the main clubhouse and available during opening hours. These were modern and very clean. The only small negative we could give is that some of the access roads are a bit narrow especially as we have an 8' wide caravan! We just took it very steadily and had no issues. There are some excellent local pubs which we took advantage of and overall our stay was excellent.
