We enjoyed our stay at the simple CL (no EHU) and for £7/night it is great value. Contrary to earlier reviews, the toilet emptying facilities were fine. I presume that they have been improved/updated as there was a clean and modern emptying point with lid, and a tap to rinse your cassette. There was also a hand sanitiser dispenser close by. It is a huge field and we were told they were happy for people to pitch anywhere, so we kept a large distance between us and the two other caravan on site while we were there. We enjoyed the view of sheep in the adjoining field and hills beyond. It's very quiet and peaceful. It is a 10 minute drive to Croyde's beaches and Saunton Sands (we went surfing there). It is also 5 minutes from a big Tesco. The entrance is on a slight slope and got muddy quite quickly during our wet stay, which could make entering the site more challenging. A motorhome got stuck in the mud, but someone arrived from the site with a 4X4 to help. We also had traction problems getting away from our pitch, but some pushing from the family got us going. We'd definitely recommend staying here if you're fine off-grid for a few days.
