A super site for access around beautiful Somerset. Wells only 30 mins drive where we enjoy visiting
We have been coming for 4 years now and stayed for a few nights on the way to Cornwall. It is a beautiful and relaxing site with water and drainage next to van. Field kept mowed and tidy and well drained. Lots of space for dogs to run around. The owners always have made us feel welcome and very friendly.
This is our second time using Malthouse Farm, first time was for a weekend stay, second time for a one night stop over travelling down to Cornwall. The site isn't far from junction 22 of the M5. The grass field is lovely and flat and is honestly like a carpet. You have a lovely welcome from Kim and Milly the dog. The pitches are fully serviced and for the price per night that's brilliant. This will be our site of choice when we come to this area as it really is stunning.
We have been a member of the camc for over 40 years and stayed in excess of 100 sites over this time. Malthouse Farm CL, has been the best of all the sites for us. Kim & Martin are lovely people who make you welcome, nothing is too much trouble and always find time to have a chat. There is a large grass cut area with huge pitches to accommodate the largest of outfits. The pitches are full service, electricity, water, and drainage. Martin is a classic Landrover fan. I am sure if you ask him nicely he will be only to pleased to show you his collection. As others have said, it is close to local attractions. Access to the site is easy,
With good roads from the motorway. This site is
a regular for us.
We stayed here for 4 nights as part of our extended journey down to Cornwall. It's an excellent site, lovely grass pitches with views over fields and fully serviced. There is some road noise but definitely not excessive, it didn't bother us. The owner, Kim, was very welcoming and gave us lots of information on places to visit, of which, there are many in the surrounding area. The site is easy access from the M5 and secure as the pitches are behind the farm. We will definitely be back. Oh, Millie the dog was a welcome visitor.
Stopped for six nights as part of our tour of Somerset. Fully serviced pitch, very clean facilities and lovely grass field. Mille the dog greeted us on arrival and Kim came over as soon as she returned. Several interesting chats with Kim and Martin on way out and about. Site is very close to the Avalon Marshes cycle route from Highbridge to Glastonbury (35 mile round cycle). We drove to Brean Down National trust carpark walked up the down then cycled to Weston on a mostly off road trail. Drove to Wells on a damp day, walked up Brent Knoll and drove to Battle of Sedgemoor.
Cracking site with plenty to do and see locally, not forgetting Rich's cider Farm Shop and restaurant just down the road ( 3 visits in total)
Stopped one night in June on our way to Cornwall and wished we had stayed longer. Its a great site with easy access from the M5. Well positioned for exploring Somerset. Owners are very pleasant and the site was immaculate.
Should have reviewed this brilliant CL straight after our 5 night visit at the start of the month, but reminded when I just saw it featured in the October magazine which is thoroughly deserved.
Met by Kim's partner on arrival although she had already identified the freshest available pitch for us with a very professional welcome board. Wow, how delighted we were with our speculative choice of site. Beautifully mown, easy access off B road and through farm yard and spacious fully serviced pitches and much above average 'Elsan' disposal and rubbish too. Kim came to see us when she came home and had a nice chat, and her border collie was also a frequent visitor for a fuss.
Enjoyed the equestrian activity in the field opposite and I an sure the 'wild' flowers around the perimeter fence would have been beautiful a few weeks earlier.
In all a lovely site with great owners, only a stones throw from Highbridge, Weston, Burnham, Cleavedon etc. Much too good for a one night stop over site, en route from the west country!
Only one small comment - when looking for the site coming down the B road, we went past and had to back up as the CL sign was not prominent enough in our opinion, but this is mostly due to the insipid colours the club chose for the logo / signage, when they made the unwelcome changes a few years back!
Thanks Kim.
Well as all the other reviews say, what a gem of a cl. Perfectly located from the M5 and for local attractions. Kim and Millie lived up to the reviews although Martin and Ziggy (the cat) deserve a mention to. Will definitely be back if not this year next year. Thank you for a lovely weekend.
We stayed here for four nights last week. Kim and Millie the dog are very welcoming. Arrival is easy and the CL is flat and open. Drains have recently been added to each pitch so they are all fully serviced! Surely the cheapest fully serviced pitches around!
Clean and well maintained. Metal and glass recycling containers, clean and easy to use disposal point.
We would certainly return. Thank you Kim and Millie.
Stopped over last week for a couple of nights and didn't want to leave, Kim makes you feel really welcome and keeps the site spotless. Really central for Bridgewater, Weston-Super Mere and Taunton and no distance to travel from the motorway. I will most certainly be back soon.
