Charming Devon CL

We (2 adults 1 dog) stayed here in our caravan for 12 delightful nights in June. Access off the main road from Tavistock is easy. The site is well maintained level grass. Pitches are well spread with 16A EHU to each. The site has a toilet and shower which were well cared for for the duration of our stay. As mentioned in other reviews, the dog walk down to the river is beautiful and most welcome. Tavistock is a good size town will all the amenities most will require. The owners (David and Anne) were very welcoming and a pleasure to speak with. They struck a good balance of being available whilst never becoming overbearing. Some reviews criticize the excessive noise emanating from the road. Whilst we were aware of it, it never became intrusive although such things are subjective. We heartily recommend this site and intend to return when next in Devon.

Fabulous site

Really enjoyed our stay here. Had a very warm welcome on arrival from friendly owners. Lovely well kept site. A very traditional site which we prefer with a magical walk along a stream to sit by the water and listen to the babbling brook. Lots to do in the area and the owners recommend places to visit.

Very well maintained, warm welcome and super dog, friendly site.

This campsite has very easy access for your motorhome, yes, it is off a busy main road, but later in the day it goes quiet and at night there is very little traffic to disturb the beautiful surroundings, the sound of the stream and the birds singing in the trees. There is a wonderful dog, friendly enclosed area for you to exercise, your four-legged friend, and they will have a great time splashing around in the stream and meeting the local pheasant. Are you short walk from the entrance to the campsite as a public footpath that leads directly to the canal and from here you can easily walk into Tavistock town centre in just over an hour. Tavistock offers a wonderful public park With lots of amenities, such as food, exercise areas and fully accessible walks. The owners of this Campsite are very warm and welcoming and keep the whole place very tidy, clean and welcoming for everybody. We will definitely come back here again and stay with Anne and Dave Summers, a great campsite and we recommend it to everybody.

Lovely welcome

Lovely welcome from Dave and Ann. Site is spacious with 2 hardstandings. Grass was immaculate and site is lovely with a nice dog walk down to the river. Cycled up the road to join a path to the canal which takes you into Tavistock, which is a lovely town , pannier market is worth visiting. We picked up the drakes trail which is a cycle trail through to plymouth, going through some lovely countryside. Toilet and shower clean. My only gripe is the shower wasn't hot enough for me. Some road noise during the day but this dropped off during the evening and was quiet at night. Dave and Ann are great hosts and we look forward to returning sometime.

A so so site, noisy

Very close to a very busy main road. About a mile out of Tavistock, you need a car to get there. I am afraid I found the owners very set in their ways. Toilet shower block fine. Would not use again because: road traffic noise, location

A Perfect CL

This is a really beautiful site. The owners are very friendly but not intrusive. When I stayed, there was just my van and one other camper on the hard standing pitches, no one on the camping field. Although there is some road noise during the day, the nights are peaceful and the call of owls a delight. Everything was clean and tidy. The icing on the cake is the fabulous dog walk, a mown path through a meadow following the stream. My dog loved to run up & down the twisting path, around the fruit trees & I enjoyed sitting in the sun on the bench at the end, watching her paddle in the water. Perfect! I want to go back as I didn't have enough time to explore the canal path walk into Tavistock.

Such friendly owners

We stayed almost two weeks here and can endorse all the favourable comments already posted. Ann and Dave are the friendliest of hosts, they even invited us to join their Platinum Jubilee garden party, which was exceedingly nice of them. The site is kept immaculate and the shower/wc is always spotless. The field isn't huge and is surrounded by trees, providing excellent shelter and lots of shade, but anyone needing an afternoon sun fix should ask to be pitched to the left! Note that motorhomes are not allowed on the grass, and there are just two small hardstandings available.

Perfect place to stay

I visited Lumburn Court in early August 2021 with my two children in our campervan. I would return without any hesitation. The owners were welcoming, helpful in telling me where to pick up the very near-by canal path into Tavistock and despite the heavy rain, they came out to say goodbye too . The recycling facilities are superb - pretty much everything, including food waste. And they have their very own nature reserve which we managed to spend a bit of time in between the rain. The toilet and shower room was kept spotless and the warm shower was very much appreciated by the three of us after the soaking we had on our way back from Tavistock. I intend to return. Thank you.
