Ideal for fishing and relaxing

Brilliant site, lovely views and peaceful ( although the site is just off an A road not much noise). Lovely cafe and farm shop, fishing very good. All staff very pleasant and helpful. Would recommend and will be coming back!

First Trip of The Year

Late booking as the weather forecast was so good for the weekend beore Easter - a very friendly lady took my booking & was extremely helpful with directions. We were glad we chose this site - it feels a relaxing place straight away, the access is easy to the site & to a good hardstanding pitch - I suppose it could have been a little more level & the surface is rough but they are minor comments. Fabulous views over the 3 trout lakes & surrounding scenery - there is a wonderful huge high quality farm shop & a nice resturant for beakfasts & lunches - we found extremely friendly staff everywhere - we were made very welcome. This is a nice area with a big choice of pubs within a couple of miles of the site - most do food - we found the Red Lion @ Sutton to be very good & The Anchor nearby on the canal side to be very tranquil, pleasant & a bit quirky - the Landlady has been there for over 45 years. Altogether an excellent site to be revisited by us - the trout fishing on site is a big attraction for at least one of us! The nearby road (A519) can be a bit noisy during the day but is quiet during the evening & night so it wasnt a problem for us. The shower room for caravanners is combined with the toilet, an improvement would be to seperate the two - the room is large & it would be easy to divide it into two cubicles.

not so relaxing

We stayed at this site on 13 to 20 Oct staying on pitch 5. I am sorry to say but we did not find this site quiet and peaceful at all. The site is adjacent to the A519 a very busy and noisy road with heavy lorries on route to M6 at all hours impossible not to have radio on as distraction. The driveway in front of caravans is also access to café and fisheries so you have traffic up and down all day 90% of which ignores the 15 mph speed limit but the worse thing being the road is hardcore so you are covered in a layer of dust with every passing vehicle

GREAT VIEWS

Spent two nights,25th-27th. Lovely views across the trout lakes. Easy access. Food at the pub at Norbury Junction good value. Excellent all day breakfast at the cl. Only down side is the track running past the pitches to the cafe and car park for fishing is very dusty and although there are 15mph signs people drive much faster and so when sitting outside our caravan we were frequently covered in a cloud of dust as well as the car and caravan! Could do with 5mph signs and more speed bumps

Lovely site

A realy nice peaceful site, great views over trout lakes, and surrounding country side. Very easy to get to and easy access. There's a nice pub not far away at Norbury Junction right on canal side, good food. We didn't visit cafe, but we heard very good reports about the breakfast, will try that next time we visit

Lovely Lakeside views

We stayed on this lovely site for 3 nights. The view from the pitches are absolutely beautiful with uninterrupted views over the fishing lakes. There was a lovely Cafe on the site with a good menu of homemade cakes, soups and hot meals etc... We asked if we could have a takeway and they were very obliging.. We were able to have a breakfast before we pulled off the site which set us up for the day. We will defintely be returning when back in the area as there are lots of lovely places to visit around there.
