A Caravan Site with Great Views and Services

Well my wife and I were looking for a site to stay at for the weekend where it was quiet and with nice views if possible. On looking on the Caravan Club Web Site we found Lower Moorend View Site - it looked just perfect for our weekend. I called direct and spoke with Natalia who was helpful with making the booking. We obtained the direction to the site and set off. We only had a short journey to get to the site. The directions were very easy to follow - we found the entrance to the farm and site very easy. There is a Caravan and Motorhome Club sign at the entrance to the driveway. As we drove up the drive to the farm we were greeted by Natalia who was coming out of the house, oh yes and the two dogs who were barking - saying that I think the springer spaniel was just barking for the fun of it - more chance of being licked to death than being bitten. They are both working dogs, so it understandable that they bark at strangers - we certainly were never worried about the dogs as they were always tied up. Anyway, Natalia gave us a summary of the facilities and she did say to use any of the vacant pitches. Natalia said she would pop down later to see us. Natalia was most welcoming. Well we then drove to the gate that gave access to the caravan pitches. To be honest all of the pitches had lovely views of the valley, so it did not really matter which one you picked. The gap between each pitch was really good, much bigger than most of the sites we have been to. Any awnings would need to be set up on the grass, so make sure you have a ground sheet if it is wet. I was really impressed that there was a power and water point at the rear of you pitch. The point had a light which would help if you arrived during the hours of darkness. The bins, waste water point and toilets were positioned at the bottom of the site on the left. The waste water and bins were on concrete which is good if the drowns was wet. The toilet block contained two toilets and a sink (with a towel). It was immaculately clean. There was information on the walls about the local area, which is a nice touch. Natalia did come and see us shortly after we arrived and spoke to us for a good 15 minutes. Natalia stated there were no issues with putting up an awning if we wanted too. Although we had bought our awning we did not put it up. In the evening we decided to walk to the Yew Tree Inn for a light refreshment (10 minutes walk). Wow what an amazing pub. This is well worth a visit if you are staying at the site or you are in the area. The sunset is really amazing, especially as you have great views of the valley. In summary this is a lovely caravan site. It has very good facilities considering it is not a big site. It is ideally positioned for visiting this part of the Peak District and Alton Towers if you want some excitement - we will certainly visit again for the peace and quiet.
