Grand Site.

Our first visit and it won't be our last. Easy access off a quiet lane along a 1/4ml tarmaced drive, ideal for walking ones dog last thing at night. The site has 5 H/S pitches with EHU, but should you prefer grass there is plenty of room on the site. The views from the pitches are extensive, across the valley of the R. Wharfe to the Harewood Estates. There are a number of footpaths from the farm and Almscliffe Crags are only a short distance away. The lanes leading away from the site are quiet and suitable for both walking and cycling. For the more hardcore mountain biker there are the man-made trails at Slaidburn forest less then 10 mls away. For those who do not wish to use there car/motorhome there is a station within walking distance where trains can be taken to Harrogate, 2 stops away, and in the other direction Leeds. I would presume that there is also a bus service in both directions from Huby, but we did not explore that alternative method of travel. The nearest supermarkets are at Otley and Harrogate both about 5 ml distance. As well as the normal farm animals there a pair of donkeys which occupy the field adjacent to the site, and are fun to watch. We will certainly return soon.

Nice CL with lovely views

Visited May bank holiday.  Excellent value for money and marvellous views from hard standing pitches. Easy to find (Sat Nav worked ok). Pitch where you want on arrival the further away from the entrance gate the more likely you will need some sort of levelling blocks. Walk to almscliffe crag is approx 20 minutes which is a nice morning dog walk on quet country lane and footpath with marvellous views from the top of the crag, weather permitting. Short drive to nearest pub and located 5 miles from Harrogate and Otley. Didn't meet the owners other than to pay and then we were only asked how many nights we were staying. Whilst it states advanced booking there was no deposit required. I am not overly bothered about a warm welcome etc although it is nice to know where to pitch and where to put grey water etc. previous visitors informed us that you pitch where you want, grey waste goes along the hedge and you visit the house to pay. An very nice CL for a long weekend or whilst visiting events in Harrogate or Harewood or as a stop off going North or South as it is within easy reach of A1.

Amazing Views

This CL is a great place to relax and enjoy the views. On a clear day you can see miles. The Owners are great and very welcoming. We now have used this CL many times. You can sit and watch the Red Kites fly around, a short walk up to Arnscliff Cragg and the views from here are 2nd to non. On a clear day you can see the White Horse on the North Yorkshire Moors and in the other directions the cooling towers at Castleford on the M62. Many local attractions around, it's a great place to visit Yorkshire. The CL is a working farm and the owners work hard to make your stay very enjoyable. It has 5 Hard standing pitches and if you don't like hard standing then the owners have made 5 grass pitches so plenty of room to enjoy your stay. Once you have been you will come back !

Peaceful Weekend

Just arrived back from a peaceful weekend at Lower Banks farm, this was an ideal site for a bit of peace and quiet and a nice walk in the surrounding countryside. Found a nice pub on the walk, The Hunters Inn, real ale and a large coal fire.
