First CL site visit
This was our first time at a CL site has we only bought our Motorhome in September 2013 and used the CC sites to get used to it. It certainly set a high standard for others to follow. A warm welcome from Tracy, despite her being busy in the middle of the lambing season. Nice open well kept pitches, very warm, clean toilet and shower facilities. Blue skies and a craving for Sunday Lunch saw us head off across the fields to the Burlington Inn. Real ales and a superb meal with proper puddings, highly recommended (dogs allowed). Some nice walks in the area but a car is needed for getting further afield. Great views across the Duddon estuary towards Haverigg. Will definitely be back soon. We followed the A5092 from Greenodd and left onto the A595 at Grizebeck without problem. Just a few hundred metres of narrow road from Grizebeck but passing places with care. This route is much shorter than going via Dalton especially with a large motorhome.
Comment from The Caravan Club:
Many thanks for your review and we are delighted you enjoyed your stay here. We do recommend that members follow the directions in the Sites Directory and Handbook and on the site’s website page. The alternative route suggested here does have a very narrow and twisty section in which it is difficult for even 2 cars to pass and it has been known for vehicles to get jammed. Thanks again for leaving a review and we hope you continue to enjoy both Club and CL Sites.
