Up there with the top.

We spent 5 nights at this CL in August. It was brilliant, I can thoroughly recommend it. The field is flat and massive (play spot the van), Mr Sillibourne is lovely and welcoming and has gone the extra mile on the site, for example picnic benches, waste food caddies and a dog poo bin. We will definitely return if in the area.

One of the best

In nearly 50 years of using CLs this is one of the best we’ve ever stayed on. We can’t add anything more to the reviews other than to endorse them. A gem !

Great Kent site

The site is easy to access from the A2070 but the last mile is along a narrow lane with few passing places. However don't let that put you off visiting as it is very quiet, and whilst we did meet a tractor on the way in we got past okay and we met nothing on the way back out. The field is huge with double EHU posts well spaced on either side. One of the best things about CL’s is that you don’t need to line up your back corner to the post as you do at the club sites, and at this CL the only thing that limits where you pitch is the length of your EHU cable. There was the odd bit of road noise from time to time (it depended on the wind direction and was mostly just the noise of motorbikes), but the vast majority of the time the only noise was the sheep in the field next door and the wind in the trees (and the Rooks when they came in to roost each night). The hedging and trees do a really good job of sheltering the site from the wind. Water tap, chemical waste disposal and recycling all by the entrance to the field. Grey waste can be pipped into the field edge. Another nice touch at this site is that they have food waste tubs that you can take to your pitch and return once full. Whilst the grass was short, there were a lot of grass cuttings. The right side of the site gets the morning sun, and the left the evening sun. Or if you pitch right at the top facing down the field, you get the best of both morning and evening sun. The sunset cannot been seen from most pitches, but you only have to walk down to the gate by the byway at the bottom of the site and you get to see some fantastic sunsets. The byway runs up the drive and along the bottom of the site and leads to multiple footpaths as well as the Military Canal. It did seem to be well used, especially over the weekend, though I wouldn't call it busy. There are loads of cycling routes directly from the site and being flat, you can cycle to the coast with no bother. Plenty of places to visit nearby and further afield. There are no pubs within easy walking distance but we drove to the White Horse pub at Bilsington and had a really nice meal. Contact with the site was very easy, and a deposit of two days was paid by bank transfer (we did book 6 months in advance). The remainder of the fee was paid once we got to the site. Peter came over to say hello and to make sure we were okay, and then left us to it. At £20 a night, this site is really good value for money. We'd definitely recommend it and would revisit if ever in the area again.

Love this site

Stayed twice in the last week or so. I love this site for its secluded location and lovely views. It’s a spacious field with (normally) a free choice of pitches. There are no unnecessary rules and owner Peter is a gent.

Beautiful site and friendly welcome

This is a wonderful peaceful site with lots of space between the plots. The site is dog friendly with some great, safe walks into Ruckinge. Can’t thank Peter enough for allowing us to stay. We had a great time and will defiantly come back again.

Lovely Peaceful Relaxing CL site

My wife and I have been coming to Lords Farm for over 15 years with various motorhomes that we have owned over that period.Peter is very helpful nothing is too much trouble he also has good local knowledge of the area and is keen to guide you in the right direction. The site is large enough with well maintained level facilities and it also has great walks to exercise our two dogs and its also good for cycling, nice small quiet roads to explore the local area. The birdwatching is also good, last week we spotted many green woodpeckers, yellowhammers, wagtails, chaffinches plus various birds of prey, kestral, buzzards, marsh harrier, little owl and we heard a tawny owl during the night The site also has two hardstanding areas which is also useful particularly given the amount of rain we have had recently.

Large peaceful site

We had a wonderful second stay at Lords Farm. It is easily accessible, very quiet and peaceful. Caravans are far apart. The owner provides everything needed for recycling, general and food waste. We loved cycling along the lanes, visiting the coast and nearby villages and towns.

Awesome family holiday ‘summer 2022’

We had a brilliant family holiday on this lovely site last summer. We are a family of four, we have two children 11 yrs and 8 yrs. This was our fourth season with our caravan and our favourite summer holiday yet! Peter was just brilliant, really welcoming and attentive. He gave us lots of information and recommendations for different activities and places to walk in the local area. The site was spotless with really easy to use waste facilities and great recycling system. We love the small five van sites for their quiet and peaceful location to help us chill & relax and this site did not disappoint. Lovely and quiet site with great views and lots of birds to listen and look out for. We like to go for walks and bike rides and there were several in all directions. Lots of grass space in between pitches my daughter even learnt to ride her bike whilst we were away! Our favourite walk was out of the fields and along the canal into hamstreet, where there is a lovely cake shop and a great garden centre that does huge breakfasts! There is also a good play park and a small nature reserve in the village too. We had fish & chips from their too and they were great. In the evening after dinner we would always go for a walk and look at the sunsets and stars, very little light pollution so good for using our mini telescope. Lots of frogs and wildlife in the ditches that run the length of the farmers fields adjacent to the site to keep the kids busy. There is plenty of space to set up a small badminton court and play pétanque by the van and we were still really far apart from neighbouring vans so you didn’t feel you were encroaching. It’s only a short drive from several sandy beaches, Dymchurch our favourite, close to the lovely mini steam railway, water sports, a nature reserve and Ashford outlet/cinema. We really did have a super holiday here, staying for 11 days, and we would definitely return, possibly this summer if it is not already booked out! The great location, well kept site and helpful owner Peter really did make the holiday experience hassle free and is just what we needed for our family summer holiday last year. There is nothing I could give as a drawback it really was just spot on. Many thanks Peter & family Xx
