Not only is this site well located as a stopover for journeys further up north or back down south, it is also ideal for trips into Glasgow itself.
Its other great selling point is the helpfulness of the owners. Their flexibility on leaving and arrival times makes journey planning that bit easier.
The site itself is very quiet (I couldn't hear any motorway noise despite it being so close) and surprisingly rural given its location. It also feels very secure.
Lovely site
This is a lovely, peaceful site which is ideal as a stopover or for visiting Glasgow. No EHU, but that's OK for us as we're self sufficient. Even though the motorway can be heard, it doesn't intrude on the general quietness of the site. Nice environment with secure gated access. Paul met us on arrival and was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We drove a few miles to the railway station where parking was easy, and took the train into Glasgow Queen St. Perfect!

This CL is a gem for off-grid tourers.
The owners, Christine and Paul are very friendly and welcoming and happy to give local information. The site is very roomy and despite the background noise from the motorway, very peaceful. Access to Glasgow could not be simpler with the blue train into Queen St station from Gartcosh - which has a large car park.
We will certainly be back!

Close to Glasgow but country feel
Although there’s constant background noise from the motorway this feels like a very rural location. The site is delightful in a clearing surrounded by trees. There was constant birdsong, we saw a very handsome fox, and heard owls and a woodpecker. Really useful stop over travelling to & from Highlands.
Ideal location
Ideally located for Glasgow. Friendly welcome when we arrived. Very clear guidance beforehand on location of services and gate key code. Plenty of space on a pretty even field. Site is generally quiet, with occasional traffic noise. NB site is off Lockheed Road, which can be busy, and is not so easy to walk along in either direction.
Tranquility on the edge of Glasgow
We stayed here for 2 nights in October as we wanted to visit a friend in hospital in Glasgow. It’s very handy for the city but is a tranquil site with open area for camping next to a wood and fields. Apart from some noise from aircraft the main sound at night was owls hooting. A pleasant welcome from Paul the owner. Minimum facility site, just what we were after. It is secure with a coded gate at the entrance. Despite having had lots of rain we had no difficulty driving onto and off the grass on site. Only a couple of miles from a Morrisons supermarket which has lpg, very handy. Buses nearby but we didn’t use these. Would definitely recommend this site.

Perfect for visiting Glasgow or enroute to the Scottish West Coast and Highlands
We stopped over for 3 nights in September to visit friends in Glasgow and do a bit of sight seeing before going further north to the Isle of Skye. Such a nice little find is Lochwood Farm. We are self sufficient so chose this site in particular. So close to Glasgow city centre by car, bus or train. Nice that although the site is close to lots of housing estates you would never know it. It is surrounded by fields, has its own wood and is perfect for well behaved dog's. Roe deer, Muntjac deer, squirrels roam the adjoing fields and woods as well. Easy to find with the sat-nav which directs you straight to the site entance. Loads of imformation given when booking. A really nice welcome and with coded gate entrance feels very secure. Apart from seeing our friends the other highlight was a 25 mile drive to visit the Helix Park to see the Kelpies and the giant Falkirk wheel. Either one worth the drive and only 3 miles apart makes it a really good visitor destination. We will be going back on our next Scottish tour.
Our West Higland Way adventrue started and finished here
Always feels wrong to use a site for private parking but it was ideal for our purpose. As others have mentioned its just off the motorway network and cheap super market fuel inbetween (Morrisons - Easterhouse). We parked here for a total of 9 nights knowing it would be safe and secure. The first part of the time we were parked up we caught the train from Easterhouse (1.6miles) to Milngavie and then proceeded to walk the West Highland Way. We returned 6 days later via Gartcosh railway station (1.4miles) and enjoyed a remaining very peaceful time walking the local area and observing the local wild life, including an adult and offspring muntjac roaming the grounds if you are up early enough! We were even congratulated for completing the walk by Paul and Christine (owners). Can't fault the site. Alas EHU would be nice but we can happily survive on the gas & solar/battery systems so its not a necessity to us. If you need a stop over on route north or south and can survive without EHU it is a perfect site and the only CAMC CL site in the area from what we could establish.
Lots of places to visit if all you want to do is walk including Drumpellier Country park but with a choice of 2 railway stations within 30mins walking either Glasgow or Edinburgh are within easy reach. EE mobile network is fine for streaming here. TV reception was fine for us too. Satellite reception was ok too if positioned on the north side of the site. As for any other amenities or services the owners provide plenty of detailed information in email correspondence. We will be back at some point on our travels!
Fine for Glasgow
The welcome was enjoyable as was the spacious site. Although only half mile from housing estates you would never know it. It was quite, secluded, secure with lovely country views. Within half mile regular buses to Glasgow city centre. We found the TV reception was intermittent
GREAT SECLUDED CL
Only about 10 mins from M74 M73 M8 ideal stopover going further North or South or just chilling on site. Owner kind enough to let me on site early with gate key code and visited to make sure everything was ok for me.
I was visiting family so could come and go as pleased with the key code
I will certainly use again it was lovely
