Lovely Spot

Booking and arrival details were provided very clearly by Steven - even contacting us a few days before arrival to apologise that he would not be there to greet us in person, but his daughter looked after us very well. Directions to the site were very good. It does involve travelling through Hebden but if you take your time and follow the instructions carefully it isn't a real problem - buses follow the same route. The CL is in a lovely elevated position with wonderful views down to Hebden and is extremely peaceful and well cared for with only the occasional passers by being horses led from the adjoining livery, but these were absolutely no distraction at all. The toilet and shower facilities are very close and part of the farm house but they are of a good size and very well equipped with lovely shower and changing facilities - a pleasure to use. The local pub which is five minutes walk is not open every day so we couldn't sample the food or ale there during our stay but we did try the Robin Hood at Pecket Well whilst out walking, and this served hearty pub grub all day on certain days. Hebden Bridge is not far to walk but the walk down to it is steep in places, and all up hill on the return journey, so as others have said, the return journey by bus is very welcome if you need it. We used this site to break our journey to Northumberland and we certainly weren't disappointed.
