We visit at least 12 CL's every year and this is one of the best. On arrival the owner - who works - may not be there but your site is clearly marked. There are plenty of electric points and taps.
The showers is better than many commercial sites ( 50p buys enough hot water for 2 showers) and there is a separate toilet and a washing machine.
The owner has a lovely friendly 'hearthrug' spaniel which is only allowed out under supervision.
I cannot understand the earlier complaints - I wonder what the motivation was ?
We visited in Sept 2011 and when I opened the site page to re-book for this year I was surprised to see previous reviews. We loved our stay here and recommended it to friends who visited autumn 2012 and also had a good time.
We have been caravaning for 20 years and mostly use CL sites as we like the peace and quiet and also the variation they offer. We very rarely get a personal welcome and just turn up and pitch up, catching the owners when we see them or leaving our fees at the end of the holiday. The CL's vary so much. Some offer brochures and info and others just a beautiful location.
The pitches here are large and well tended. I used the shower which was fine but basic as on most CL's. Wonderful location to explore this part of the Devon coastline.
The site was full when we arrived apart from our pitch which was marked with our name. Good planning on the part of the owners I thought, they were obviously going to be busy that day. Other members already pitched up chatted and directed us to the amenities. Some visited regularly with their families.
We had to leave a day early because of a family emergency and I went to pay the owner, expecting to pay for the whole week but she only charged for the days we stopped. This was the only time I saw her.
We plan to visit again.
