First ever night away in a caravan. We will definitely be returning
Entry to the site was super easy, although a country lane it was a wide lane and it's only a few minutes from the M5
Plenty of space, easy access to all services, we met the owner who was extremely friendly, helpful and flexible with arrival and departure
Really quiet location, at the other end of the field you can access a great walk
Excellent for dogs too.
Our only negative was as getting the van level meant it was quite high for the awning , more experienced people may not run into this issue and other pitches were more level
2024 Review
Nice and easy access to the site from the M5/A39 and a large area to pull into off the road whilst opening the gate. As others have mentioned the pitches back onto the road and all have fantastic views of the Mendip Hills and Glastonbury Tor. There were three units on site, but even with five, there would still be plenty of room. The water tap is centrally located and the bins (with recycling) and CWD are in a corner screened from the pitches. Grey waste can be pipped into the hedge. The friendly owner came to collect our fee and said to call if we had any problems/questions. Otherwise they left us to it. They had been very easy to contact via email prior to the trip. We have to agree with others that the road behind the site is quite noisy, mostly due to the speed of passing vehicles and because it is so close to the pitches. However, it is not a constant noise and it tailed off into the evening and was much quieter again on Saturday and Sunday. Noise is a very personal thing, what annoys one person will not bother another. When there were no passing vehicles, the site was very quiet. There is so much to do in the immediate area and slightly further afield. A round trip cycle into Glastonbury is about 17 miles. It is well worth using the gravel shared use track via Shapwick Heath. Apparently late afternoon or weekends can get busy with walkers/bird watchers, but we found it okay on a Friday shortly after lunch. We came back via the NCN3 road route and found that, apart from the odd lorry going to/from the peat factories, they were very quiet. The site fee is still only £15 (EHU included) which is extremely good value. We'd recommend a visit to this site.
Great Location and Lovely Views
We spent a wonderful week here in July in the sunshine.
Finding the CL was easy and access is very good, plenty of room for car and caravan to pull off the road to open the gate.
Large field with just a gentle slope, short grass and the cuttings collected. EHU's along the hedge well spaced giving everyone plenty of room and wonderful views over the marshes with Glastonbury Tor in the distance. One water top along the fence, cdp and bins in the corner away from the pitches.
The site is in the edge of the village and the friendly local pub the King William just 5 minutes walk away, we ate there a couple of times and the food was very good. The current landlords are leaving in the Autumn so things may change.
The location of the CL gives easy access to Glastonbury and Bridgwater, Wells with its magnificent cathedral is well worth a visit.
There is a very handy shop in the next village which sells almost everything.
We didn't think the road along side the site was particularly busy, the farmers were obviously busy so there were a few tractors and local traffic but it was very quiet in the evening.
Geoffrey the owner popped in during the week to check all okay.
We will definitely use this lovely CL again when next visiting the area.
Lovely site with an amazing view,
Great site with easy access to lots of local attractions. Very helpful owners. Pitches are pretty level, hook up is 16a, which is great. Amazin views Iver the levels. The only downside is the road noise as you are literally 4 metres from the road, and it's loud and for a country road it's also pretty constant. Be aware, especially as the site is just on the cusp of the end of the national speed limit, so vehicles pass pretty quickly.
Lovely site
We are just back from 9 nights here. This is a very good site with lovely views. Great access to many places of interest; Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury, Wells, Burnham on Sea and Weston Super mare. Owners are very friendly but in no way intrusive. Would definitely recommend the King William Inne just down the road. Very friendly owners and great food. We made use of their skittle alley too which the kids loved. Some very quiet lanes for running and cycling also. Thanks for having us!
Great CL, fabulous views
Stayed for four nights at the beginning of June. Well laid out site with plenty of space. Landowner very helpful. Some road noise but not an issue. Fabulous views and a great location to visit Glastonbury, Wells and Cheddar Gorge. Will definitely be back.
Very first CL
First time at a CL and Campsite, new to caravanning, what a great place to start. Wonderful views, good facilities and great chats with the owner, offering recommendations for dog walking and nearby beaches (Brean, out of season) Some morning road noise but overall excellent.

A great site in a lovely area
This site has brilliant views across the valley, where there are several nature reserves (mostly dog friendly).
You can also see Glastonbury Tor on a hill on the horizon – it’s about 8 miles away.
Although the site is right next to a lane, it is pretty quiet, apart from the occasional rumblings of a tractor .
The village of Catcott is very pretty and we loved seeing the little stalls selling local produce – jams , chutneys, apples of course, and even little book stalls.
There is a dog friendly pub in the village, it did get busy for food so would be best to book. The food was really good.
The site is within easy reach of Glastonbury and we also headed over to the coast one day which wasn’t too far.
We had the added bonus of seeing bats fly outside the caravan each evening, just before it went dark, so it’s worth keeping your curtains open.

Excellent site, in a good location and a very friendly welcome.
We stayed in our motorhome for five nights and we wished it could have been longer. Good location with stunning views and a warm friendly welcome. We cycled and visited the local area in our van, but it’s also a good base for walkers. Would defiantly return if in this area.
well run site with good basic facilities
We spent six days here and we’re happy with position and access this site provides. Good walks from site especially if your a dog owner with walks within the farms boundaries. Early morning sunrises over Glastonbury Tor. Site facilities are basic with good power supply, water central position on site and plenty of room to maintain covid distancing plus all user points and gates fitted with hand sanitizers.
Finally we would recommend this site for those who wish to visit Somerset.k
