Ease of arrival/welcome

One of the best adult only CLs in the UK.

This site has gone straight to the top of our favourite CLs. We booked for 4 nights and very soon extended our stay further. Ros greeted us on arrival, explained about the farm and gave us some useful notes on the area. Kirby is a working largish arable farm and landscaping business. Being 1 mile off a public road means peace and quiet. There is a small movement of vehicles around 8.30am and then around 4.30pm but frankly speaking, very little to disturb visitors and spoil the wonderfully quiet atmosphere. Even when they were combining the rape field way in the distance, there was no noise problem and we enjoyed the emotive scene of a large combine harvester setting about its business. Great stuff. The field is fairly level, very easy access, and around 2 acres in area. There are 4 or 5 fresh water points (with decent pressure) around the perimeter and around 10 electric points too. The black water and recycling bin area is in one easily accessible corner. With a maximum of 5 units on site, there is plenty of room to spread out and chose where to pitch your unit. Mention has been made of The Peacock pub locally. We ate there twice and thoroughly enjoyed the food and staff banter. A great tip from Ros......drive the 1 mile farm track to the public road, leave the car inside the farm entrance and an 8 minute walk gets you inside The Peacock! No drink/drive problem and a lovely walk back to the farm to help work off some off the over indulgences. There are several National Trust properties within a 30 minute drive plus the beautiful Costswold villages. A great place to base yourself for a few days of "me time". HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
