A wonderful stay at Karvue

Thank you Trevor and Gill for a wonderful 8 night stay ! This is a fabulous CL , so relaxing and set in beautiful surroundings, Trevor works so hard to keep it looking immaculate, couldn’t ask for a more perfect CL 😊 A bargain at £19 a night too 😉

Second visit didn't disappoint!

This is the second time we have visited this lovely CL. The first time we visited in August 2020 it hadn't long opened, and Trevor hadn't got round to putting in ehu. Now, four years later, the site has 6 numbered pitches - all with ehu. We were the third outfit on site when we arrived, and so chose pitch number 1. It was lovely and level and within easy distance of us being able to refill our motorhome with water using our extendable hose - the water tap being situated more or less in the middle of the field. Pitch 1 offered morning sunshine and indeed, sunshine until the early evening, when it dropped behind the trees behind us. Come the third day of our stay we had the site to ourselves, so we moved our table into the sunshine for our evening meal, and sat out until at least 8pm before it started getting chilly. I rang up to book the site a couple of days before our arrival, and I was very impressed that Trevor remembered us from our last visit. Once again we made use of the many quiet roads so we could get out on our bikes. We even ventured into Suffolk (only just) on our first full day - a 40 mile round trip! I have given 4 stars for tranquility - it mostly is quiet - but since the arrival of the F-35s at RAF Marham, the exercise flight path seems to lie overhead. The noise certainly wasn't constant - but we noticed it on the days when they were flying. Once again we were treated to red kites circling overhead, and on one of the days two muntjacs ran into the field, had a head to head ruck a mere 10 metres from where we were sitting, totally oblivious to us, had another run round the field, then went their separate ways. We can also highly recommend The Boars pub - less than a mile down the road. On Tuesdays most main courses are £12 each. The food was excellent as was the service - plus it was an easy cycle ride there and back. The price per night is now £19 which includes 10KwH of electricity.

Lovely peaceful site

Have just spent 4 nights on this site and it is a delight. Trevor contacted us to apologise that he would be out when we arrived but gave us the information we needed to get ourselves onto the site. It’s a beautiful site with a lovely lawn and plenty of space between the pitches. The emptying facilities are very well planned and the fresh water tap is easily accessed in the middle of the field. Although the weather was sadly not amazing we did managed to sit outside a couple of times and watch the display that the swifts put on. Lots of wildlife to observe while you relax. The Boars at Spooner Row serves a very good Sunday roast and just a short drive away. We will certainly return. Thank you Trevor for providing such a well maintained and relaxing site.

What a Site !!!

A wonderful site, peaceful and well maintained, with plenty of natural wildlife and places to visit in the surrounding area. We arrived for a short stay in Aug. 2023, but extended our stay after a couple of days. Although Trevor was not at home when we arrived, he was very organised in leaving a welcoming note on a chalk board by the entrance and calling by to introduce himself the following morning. He advised us of a circular rural walk, passing the local Pub/Restaurant. We will certainly be visiting this site again. Bev & Pete Leicester

Superbstay

This beautiful CL is just perfect and the best we have stayed on, had three wonderful days here and everything was spot on, Trevor is just so lovely and should be very proud of his CL, so very peaceful and the best dog walk we have ever had. Saw Muntjac deer, hares, stoats, buzzards during our stay which was really lovely. We highly recommend a visit to this CL and would happily have stayed much longer, a superb adult only CL if you’re looking for peace and quiet and a lovely laid back owner ! Thank you Trevor x

A real gem of CL site

We stayed here recently for a long weekend (4 day break) as we were visiting friends and relatives in the area. Despite roadworks on the A11 the access to the site was really easy and the instructions absolutely spot on. Trevor even phoned us a couple of days before our visit to ensure we knew about the roadworks and confirm that the instructions were still valid - what a service! When we arrived we received a warm welcome from Trevor. He accompanied us to the camping area and showed us the available pitches. The pitches are of a very generous size with easy, level access to a water tap and waste disposal area (which had been well thought out and built). There is a huge dog walk adjacent to the pitches with lovely views of the countryside where Hares, Muntjac Deer and numerous species of birds can be seen. The Muntjac even walked through the pitches one evening, blissfully unaware of us humans! The site is immaculately maintained by Trevor and we were fortunate to have lovely weather too. This is a fantastic family run business and we will definitely be back when visiting the area again.

Peaceful and relaxing

This CL was recommended to us by some very knowledgeable fellow-members. If you like awakening to the sound of birdsong and nothing else, then Karvue really fits the bill. We like to relax and totally unwind at the weekend and we certainly achieved that. Trevor is a very amenable host with a wealth of local knowledge, but I do not blame him for our visit to the Boars at Spooner Row (about 1.4 miles away) on a very hot afternoon and the Aspalls slipped down just a little too easily. The restaurant menu looked pretty decent as well. Look out for the most ingenious repurposing of a child's redundant trampoline; very clever!

Good Site

Stayed on this site for a week. Trevor was so helpful as I was on my own with a twin axle and pickup and he helped me in and out of the site as the entrance is do-able but is tight. The entrance is ok with single axle caravans but you do need an extra pair of eyes with a twin. Lovely, well cared for site. Would stay again

Fantastic CL

We have recently returned from staying at Karvue Meadow CL for 8 nights. We are familiar with this area of Norfolk as we have family living within 4 miles of this CL, which is why we chose it. The site is large and immaculately clean with generous sized, level, grass pitches. Trevor, the owner is friendly, chatty and made us feel very welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on this peaceful site. Thank- you.
