A peaceful retreat

We were made very welcome by Maryann and Ralph at this quiet peaceful site. Prior to our visit they had just installed electric meters for each pitch. Ten units were included in the pitch price and anything used above this is to be paid for by inserting pound coins into the meter. We had not come across this before but understand it is a fair system to charge for what you use as we all only too aware of the increased costs at the moment. We had no idea how much we would use and so both Maryann and ourselves were interested to know what are usage was. On both nights we stayed we used about 8 units so there was no extra for us to pay. To put this into context for comparison purposes we have a vw campervan and used the electric for our small fan heater, to run the fridge and to charge our devices. During our stay we enjoyed the 61/2 mile circular walk from the site which took in the Anglo-Saxon church of St Peter’s, the lovely shell beach, the abundance of wading birds and geese along the salt marsh and estuary as well as the marina and pretty village of Bradwell on Sea. We also visited Burnham on Crouch which was well worth a visit for its individual shops, eateries and walk along the sea wall. All in all it was good to visit an area of the country that we had not visited before.

Peaceful CL

This new CL is very peaceful, good walks, with sun rises & sun sets viewed on site.Maryanne has done well to get this CL setup, only thing is you mite need extra long electric lead as sockets are near entrance to site. Maryanne did have a extra lead but this was taken. Maryanne supplies you a leaflet with all the needs to help you explore the area.

It will be our go back to

Just returned from our second visit to Jackala, and we know we will be back. Maryanne is very welcolming and helpful of the local area. Electrical hook up is available which we haven't had an issue accessing The site itself is very peaceful surrounded by farmland, horses are in the field next to the touring field which are so peaceful to watch. The walk to St Peters church is a must and Bradwell marina is a beautiful place to visit. Both of our visits have been extremely relaxing and I'm already looking forward to our next visit.

Fabulous site.

What a brilliant gem of a site, we have been on many CL sites all over the country and this has to rate as one of the best. True it is a brand new site but we are sure that if they keep up the standard of welcome they gave to us them Maryann and Ralph will soon have a booming business, and they certainly deserve it. We had a couple of disasters whilst there - the awning blew up and over the motorhome, detaching itself at the same time and causing a fair amount of damage. Maryann and Ralph did us a MASSIVE favour by getting rid of the damaged awning for us so we didn't have that problem. And then the fridge packed up and they offered to let us use their fridge, an amazing gesture. So thank you guys for a fabulous stay and it was a great pleasure chatting with you. Good luck for the future and we WILL see you again.

A quiet and well kept CL .

We enjoyed a quiet weekend away here ,very well kept and easy to find and use services. The owner was extremely welcoming and helpful during our stay and set in an unspoilt area with plenty of interest to see.

This must be one of our most favourite CL's.

This must be one of our most favourite CL's. You could not wish for a more beautiful and peaceful spot. Maryanne is a great host, providing a welcome pack with lots of local information. She would give you a cheery hello and wave whenever she saw you. The site is very flat and tranquil, with wildlife all aroud but so so quite at night. We did a circular walk through a local farm to the seawall round to St Peter's Chapel one of the oldest churches in UK. Local pub just 10 mins walk from the site or you can use the clubhouse of the neighbouring caravan site who also serve breakfast. Bradwell Marina is a little further away around 40 mins walk. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and will visit again early September.

More than we wished for

A quiet lane, going onto one of the oldest churches in uk, and a site of a Roman Fort. This site is a tranquil place from which to explore. Bikes or walking, with wildlife all around, we visited the RAF Bradwell memorial and airfield, the marina and a few lovely nearby pubs. The site is run by Maryann and her family and they are lovely too. As you can tell, we thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and will visit again.

Relaxing stay at Jackala,

On arrival we were greeted by Jack & Jessica who were both very pleasant & gave us a welcome pack. This was informative, full of places to visit, local amenities & emergency contacts. We managed to get pretty close to the electric point so our lead was long enough, if you are over the other side of the field you will need a very long lead. The site is family run, it is very well kept,(clean & tidy) I particularly enjoyed waking up & seeing the horses in the field. We had a relaxing time, hubby even commented that he hadn't slept so much! (that's a good thing) We will return & will hopefully get to meet MaryAnn.

Comment from the Club

We are so delighted you enjoyed your stay on this lovely CL Site. We just wanted to let you know the site now has EHU on both sides of the field so no long lead is required.

Jubilee overnighter

Last minute booking to introduce the dog to camping. Wanted adults only site with access to coast. This CL only takes 5 units & electric is included but remember your long lead - I forgot mine but switched to solar as site is a perfect sun trap. Lots to see & plenty of walks inc a shingle beach, but no swimming swell too fast. Pub close by or you can use the facilities in caravan park next door. Own sanitation required but other than that this CL has everything you could possibly need. Gates are locked in the evening which makes you feel safe and very secure. This is a family run CL & the family are lovely & so accommodating. I won’t hesitate in rebooking next time I’m looking for a cheeky break away.

Peaceful spot

What a beautiful and peaceful spot. Maryanne was a very welcoming host, She provided an added benefit of a welcome pack with lots of local information. We were the first booking on this new site. Easy entrance for our 8m motorhome, flat and well maintained field with EHU with clean and tidy disposal point. Glorious sunset enjoyed with the horse and pony in the next field. Short walk to the coast and close to pretty Bardwell Marina. Have already booked to return.
