Very nice and tranquil CL

Within easy reach of Guisborough this CL is an ideal place to stay. A hugh field for 5 caravans, even with to statics more tha enough space. Very helpful people, as even a low hanging wire was put higher to pass the entrance with our motorhome. As the farm road has no lights a torch is recommendable when walking along in the evening.

Perfect base for Cleveland Way

Site was clean and tidy, grass pitches with mown grass good facilities for water, waste, and recycling. We used site as a base for walking the Cleveden Way its location is perfect. There is also easy access to many other spectacular walks on the coast and national park and numerous picturesque villages. Would recommend site to anyone who enjoys walking or cycling. Owner very friendly and knowledgable about the area.

Peace and more.....

We stayed here for the weekend with a new caravan. It was excellent - it was as is described -sloping- Yes quite true but there were plenty of extra leveling blocks on site. The water pressure was very low so waiting for. Water was a chore, but turn it into pleasure and spend the time admiring the site and sights, the birds etc. We had problems with HU on the new van and the owner was incredible and tried all ways to help us out. Some lovely walks, so near to lovely places, the sea, the moors, museums etc. Would reccomend it for recharging your batteries! On a downside, the entrance is not easy to find and needs care regarding traffic. If coming from the East - then it is even harder to find - do take care as entrance is on left at bottom of steep twisting hill. But well worth the effort !

Grand site

This CL is situated behind the farmhouse up a short drive off the A173 between Guisborough & Skelton. The drive is on a sharp bend and can easily be missed, as the site notice is set well back. If coming from the west it's the first track on the right after the B1268 to Upleatham. The field is sloping but it is easy to find an a level pitch. Although the road is fairly busy during the day it was quiet at night and it did not prevent us getting a good sleep. There is a good track through the farm, clean while we were there, which is ideal for walking ones dog, or for extending into a longer walk. There are plenty of places to visit close by such as N/T's  Ormsby Hall & Mount Grace Priory, Roseberry Topping and Guisborough Forest, where there are waymarked trails and off-raod cycle route, and the beaches at Marske & Saltburn. There is an Asda supermarket at Skelton, also an Aldi and Sainsbury's  at Guisborough all about 4 mls from the site. We will definitely return as there are plenty of other places close by that we we were unable to visit on this trip.

Well kept...Lovely site.

Stayed for 2 weeks and enjoyed every minute. owners very friendly and helpful on arrival.  As mentioned in another review the site entrance is easy to miss, so I would suggest following the caravan clubs directions for the last mile. Also a tip, when you drive up the hill to the site take the first left turn at the farmhouse and through the yard to the site on the left. Great site I will definitely be back.

A Handy Stay.

We used this CL for one night stopover. Situated midway between Saltburn and Guisborough, in some beautiful countryside. Site is off a main road but is easy to miss as CL sign is set back off road. Access is up slope to farm, then behind farmhouse. We had to wait for someone to help as a bit confusing given all farm buildings, but the CL field is very nice, trees to one side, lovely views of the Cleveland Hills to the other. Nice short grass, overall quite flat, and plenty of room! Usual facilities, tap, and elsan, rubbish recycling. Very nice owners and a good price. Dogs are welcome, and once you have figured out how to get to them, some lovely footpaths and walking. Two points to mention, adjacent road can be very noisy until the late evening, but we had a peaceful night. Walking dogs through the farm to get to footpaths can be very muddy, and it looks a bit untidy, but the CL field is very nice. We would use again.

For a first time caravanner the owner was great. Lent a hand to pitch and had us away in no time. Field was large with plenty of room to manoeuvre. Nice and quiet with easy access to cleveland way etc.. Will visit again

Bus access danger

The general location of this site is excellent mid way between Guisbrough and Saltburn by the sea. The field was sloping but pleasant, and the cost very acceptable. There is though one major drawback. We booked the site on the basis that it was on a bus route. However the bus stop is 1 kilometer from the access road, along a very busy A road with no verge to walk along. For safety, access to the site should only be undertaken in a vehicle

How La Hay

We visited this site for a weekend as it is quite near home. Initial access is a bit difficult due to the unmade uphill approach. This levels out beside a house and some farm buildings, but no clear indication of which way to go to access the field and no sign of the owners either. Once we reached the field we were surprised to see what appeared to be two permanently sited vans, surrounded by sandbags, windbreaks and equipment. Another van at the far end of the field didn't appear to have moved for a long time based on the length of the grass adjacent to it. "Dogs welcome" - owners dog wanders freely and uses the field as a toilet, as did a couple of dogs from the vans near the entrance, although their owner did clean up after them. Due to the slope and the wet weather, we needed assistance to get off the field, and the owner did pull us off with his 4x4. Overall we were disappointed with this site, which is a shame because it is not too far to go for a weekend break, and is close to Saltbutn (a lovely little town which we like visiting).
