Great for visiting Bristol

Stayed here on way to South Wales.  Good site with nicely segmented pitches each with its own water and electric supply.  Only stayed for one night but would visit again and stay for longer.

Great Stopover

We decided to break our journey up on our way to Devon and this is a great place to do it.  Easy to find just off the motorway and a very efficient booking in and paying system. The owner even popped by in the evening to made sure we were ok.  We arrived late and there is a late overnite pitch on easily accessible hard standing which was really useful as it was also raining heavily. Owner was really friendly too. Good dog walk available.  Will definitely be Using this CL again and again on our travels.

Excellent location and charming hosts

I can highly recommend this site having stayed here numerous times due to leisure and work, if you are visiting Bristol or any surrounding areas. Yes there is a little bit of road noise from the Motorway but not enough to disturb you or keep you awake and Field View is secure for kids to play providing you shut the gate. Also to note that this is a working farm so Oakleigh is not there to greet you, however, they have an excellent system in operation for arrivals and payments which you will see on entry, plus he is always on the end of his mobile. I have seen Oakleigh go to great lengths to aid stricken caravaners through breakdowns, illness or just forgotten equipment, therefore if you have a problem call him and he will do his best. Woodlands Golf course is just the other side of the motorway but you need to drive around as there is no direct access.

Very friendly, good location

We decided at short notice to visit our son in Bristol over Easter.  We joined the caravan club in order to stay at this CL and are very pleased we did.  The owners were very friendly and even brought us some matches when we found our matches were damp and couldn't light our BBQ.   Pitches are of a good size, room for van, awning, car and still plenty of room to sit outside.  Screened by hedges so some privacy afforded. The site is well placed, just outside the main city but within easy access of all the sights and fantastic for us as there are several golf courses within very easy reach. We will definitely be returning when next visiting our son.

An excellent CL site

I have stayed here on a few occasions and this site is perfectly situated for Bristol, Cribbs Causway and other local attractions. The site itself is very well maintained with large pitches each separated by hedges giving just the right amount of privacy. There are some nice walks around the farm and to the local pubs. All in all a very nice site that I will be visiting again.

Great site

I have stayed in a few sites around Bristol and this is one of the best. Easy to find, easy to pay and nice friendly people who can never do too much to help. The pitches are large and nicely grassed, surrounded by bushes, giving a fair amount of privacy if that is what you want. Easy access to Bristol and surrounding areas including shops and leisure centres. I usually cycle in, the roads are wide and some have cycle lanes. Plenty of walking around the farm perimeter as well. I have stayed here a few times now and will be coming back soon.

Great CL.

Have used this site quite a few times over the years and find the booking in easy and collecting the envelope and also paying was easy. The pitches are large and hedged which is great for privacy. Ideal site for visiting Bristol or the Cribbs Causway Shopping Centre.

Perfect for our overnight stop on way back up to Scotland from ferry at Plymouth

Booked this site whilst in spain . Ferry docked in Plymouth at 4pm in afternoon so we were looking for somewhere off the m5 after around 100 miles and before darkness falls. E mailed mr wood , prompt service and efficient system to arrive and pop money in the envelope. SIMPLE . Easy access and quick and easy exit. Many thanks.

Good stopover site

We used this site on our way to Devon and also on our return journey home. Good location just off the M5. Two CL sites available Field View and Wood View with 5 vans on each. We were in Field View both times. Very quiet site although you can hear the M5 in the distance. The pitches were of a good size and very private. We did find the booking in / payment a bit strange, when you arrive there is sign telling you to stop and walk forward 75 metres to two boxes on the fence, one grey, one black. You will find your booking in an envelope in the grey box and when you leave you put your payment in the envelope and put in the black box. We did find this a bit robotic and never saw the owners at all. We did have a bit of a problem on our first visit as there was no envelope for us even though we had booked months before and had a confirmation email, we were lucky that there were two spare envelopes in the box so we used on of those, but if there had been no spare we would have been in trouble with nowhere to go, so if you do use this CL it is well worth contacting them the day before (by email as they don't seem to ever answer the phone) to ensure your envelope will be there. Overall an ideal stop off site.

Ideal location and remarkably peaceful.

I had the good fortune to spend some time on this site during the very bad weather before Christmas as I was working nearby. I too was in the far corner pitch and due to the excessive "Liquid Sunshine" it was wet, that being said most parts of the country were in flood so don't read anything into that. The field was very quiet with good high hedges seperating very generous pitches. This site is so easy to use, clean and actually quiet considering it's location. It is close to a number of pubs and just a short drive from just about anything you need. In fact it is almost ideally located. Oakleigh was great to deal with, I can't thank him enough for the help as this was my first time with a 'van and he was very considerate to my requests on location. Water, electrical supply, toilet waste and general waste/recycling are all very handy and easy to use. To be fair, I really fell on my feet when I found this site. About the best thing that I can say is that I will definitely use Hortham Farm again, I wouldn't think twice about it for a stop over, whilst I'm working or just for a few days to hit Bristol and the surrounding area. It will be nice to see Oakleigh and the farm again. Cheers! Darius.
