One of the best!!

As the previous review said WOW . Having visited many many sites in the last six years we have never been on a site that was as neat, the owners as welcoming or the facilities (for a CL site) as good. No wonder it has won so many awards .We need to stay at any that beat this. Being a motorhome owner ,access to bus routes into the nearest town is important and even though it was a bank holiday the buses ran every hour. The owner (Bruce) even offered to pick us up from Tenby if we missed the last bus... We will be back with grand child in tow to enjoy the bus ride and beaches..

Wow! What an excellent site!

We stayed here for 3 nights on our recent tour of Wales, having read the recommendations. We had to amend our dates slightly to get a pitch and what a good job we did. It is a fantastic little site; the owners obviously take great pride in it and have spared no expense in keeping it up to club standards! No wonder it seems to be full for most of the ear. We were lucky enough to get the pitch on the far corner, to the right of pair of rhododendron bushes which were magnificently in flower during our stay and you get a view of the sea in the distance from this pitch, although we were never quite certain exactly which bit of sea we were looking at! The pitches are all large hard standing and easy to reverse onto and each pitch has its own picnic table. It's a short drive (or walk) into Saundersfoot which is a very attractive little seaside town with a nice beach and harbour. Tenby is slightly farther afield; we didn't look round the town, but the view from the north beach up to the church with all the painted houses alongside it is very attractive. There are plenty of good walks in the area, our main reason for visiting. From Saundesfoot in either direction to Tenby or Amroth are good stretches and beyond Tenby is a little picnic area at a spot called Skrinkle Haven with a superb view of Caldey island; again you can walk from there to manorbier with its magnificent castle. We were only sorry that our stay was so brief but we loved the area and the site and do hope to return in the near future.

Hoping to become regulars!

Our first visit to Hillcroft and hopefully not our last. The landscaped site is immaculate and nothing is too much trouble for owners Bruce and Ann. All of the large pitches are flat hardstanding with electric hook-up and each pitch has nice grass area with picnic table. From the pictures on the website you might think that the toilet/shower block is in a large wooden shed but don't be fooled - inside are two generously sized and nicely appointed shower rooms with toilet and wash basin. In addition there's a separate toilet with hand basin. There's a single railway line that runs along one side of the site but, since the one-carriage trains only run every couple of hours, this was never a nuisance. Indeed, one day we walked to Kilgetty station and caught the train to Tenby - only £3.10 day return per person and our dog travelled free. To add to the adventure, Kilgetty station is unmanned so you have to flag the train down to stop! The circular walk from the site down to Wiseman's Bridge, along to Saundersfoot and the climb back up to Kilgetty, took slightly longer than Bruce had suggested but perhaps this was because we lingered longer than strictly necessary on the sunny terrace at Wiseman's Bridge pub - only to admire the fantastic sea views, of course!

Lovely, Thank you

We do not normally review sites unless exceptionally good or really not meeting our expectations, but this one is definately exceptionally good. We had tried to book this site twice but on both occasions it had been full, however the second time Bruce phoned us back to say there had been a cancellation so we jumped at it - so pleased he did. A beautiful spacious site with immaculate facilities way above average for a cl. Bruce and Ann provided a friendly welcome and were around if you wanted them without being in your face. Great location within an easy walk of Saundersfoot and the coast path (Bruce will provide you with a map and directions), with the convenience of both a bus stop near the entrance and local facilities if required. The fish and chip shop and the Dragon Palace chinese were both well above average. The only slight hitch you may wish to be aware of if like us you have a motorhome and are staying several nights is there was nowhere suitable to dump your grey water. However Bruce even kindly came up with an answer to this by lending us his wastemaster - something we are now going to invest in. Oh and for information for anyone else who likes gardens, Begelly Park Gardens no longer exist. So all in all very highly recommended, and thank you Bruce and Ann for a very relaxing Easter. Love your CL and we will be back.

first time

Our first time at a CL and were really pleased. Lovely welcome from owners and lovely well kept pitches with individual picnic benches - although weather did not permit using it lol. stayed for a weekend and only ones on site so had the showers to ourselves - 2 in total nice, clean and spacious. a little way out of saundersfoot/tenby but a short stroll to the bus stop, local shop, and a little further on a chinese restaurant/takeaway. ideally located for folly farm, oakwood, and blue stone swimming. will definately be visiting here again.

First time to a CL Site.

This is a beautiful well kept site. Very pleasant owners even taking time to make sure we arrived safely. The showers are immaculate and obviously new with plenty of space for moving about, they would be a pleasure to have at home. Lovely views all around with plenty of walks or bus routes just outside the entrance. The washing up area is an added advantage with hot water available all day. An excellent dog walk/run. A small site with all the facilitires of a larger site without the noise. The first time but definitely not the last. Thanks Ann and Bruce.

Simply theBest

We have stayed at many CL's which have all been fine but Hillcroft is like a 5 star in comparison. The pitches are all well spaced and the shower/ toilet block would grace any club site. The owners Bruce and Ann keep the site immaculate and are on hand to be of any assistance if needed.

Awards

This CL has won so many awards it speaks for itself. The entrance is deceiving as you go through a garage workshop, but once inside its immaculate. The showers, new last year, are great, and even a washing up area! Saundersfoot station is alongside but you would hardly notice. Each pitch has its own picnic table as well.

Perfect!

We were made to feel so welcome at this amazing CL. We stayed for a week in June but could easily have stayed for much longer. We cant wait until we have the time to visit again. The site was immaculate. Even though the weather had been so bad this year the grass was like a lawn! Lots of space on site. The facilities are fab. Well done Bruce and Ann, you certainley deserve all your success.
