This is a fairly new site but it is immaculate and very attractive. As I write the café and shop are nearly complete and will be ready for Easter. Apparently the café will provide full English breakfasts which I am sure will be a hit with caravanners! The whole site has been well laid out with lots of new trees planted., This will ensure that in future when they mature there will be lots of shade, The field is a generous size so that caravans are not on top of each other.
Note: In the book it says there is no electricity but cables are now being laid to provide electricity hook up in the very near future.
It is very quiet on a dead end lane so that there is really no passing traffic.
Highly recommended. Near to Melton Mowbray which is an interesting town with lots of restaurants and history. There is also a nature reserve nearby.
The owner also picks up cut grass so that your caravan does not get full of cuttings.
What a gem we have found, great facilities and a gorgeous view of the local countryside, will make a great place to stay when the farm shop and tea rooms open in the new year, turn right out the site and there is a lovely dog walk, easy access to Melton Mowbray with local attractions.
We will certainly be going back to this CL.
We stayed at this brand new site over the August bank holiday weekend. It is a lovely quiet and peaceful site offering good access for caravans and motorhomes. The farmer Martin has put a lot of effort and expense into making this a really nice site. There are Alpacas and cattle in the neighbouring fields which children will love. There is also a lovely new tea shop on site which unfortunately hadn't yet opened when we stayed here but the farmer told us that once opened campers will be able to walk over and have breakfast .The farmer has also built a childrens play area. The site is very convenient for Twin Lakes Park and is a short walk from the centre of Melton Mowbray so ideal for shopping sightseeing ect. We will definitely visit again and was very sorry to leave. Thank you Martin for a lovely stay.
