Perfect CL

Just returned from a 7 night stay at this fabulous CL. Great location for many places of interest and easy journey into Devon and Dorset. Donald & Cynthia are lovely hosts and always have time to say hello even though they are both very busy working on the farm. Spacious well kept site with amazing views and beautiful sunsets. We like to go to different locations every summer but we are already saying 'perhaps we should go back to Hill Farm'!! Thank you Donald & Cynthia for providing your lovely CL and we look forward to seeing you again. (Rose & Peter)

Stunning Views

Lovely lawned site - and we do appreciate Donald and Cynthia's dedication to grass cutting! Best asset though are the views across to Herne Hill and surrounding countryside. The New Inn and Perry cider makers in nearby Dawlish Wake are recommended, as is Ilminster. Footpaths from the site make a nice walk, with stunning walks like Cadbury Castle further afield... Ref the last review - no selfish dog owners when we were there...

Simply Wonderful

It has all been said before so I won't bore you with repetition....as I say, this site is simply wonderful. However, there is one thing that bugs us on many sites and that is the subject of dogs. Having been bitten as a child my partner is not totally at ease with them but if they are on a lead then she's fine. Two members turned up, one with 3 dogs and one with 2 dogs. (Whatever happened to people owning 1 dog.....even my son has 2!). Neither tethered the dogs and even exercised them on the site resulting in mess. It was cleaned up but residue always remains which can cause real issues if kids play in the field. I accept that dogs will have accidents but these dogs were being exercised and not walked outside of the caravan field. I'd like to think that most of our members are law abiding citizens so what is it with dogs and rules.......why do dog owners think it's OK to break the Club rules? Please dog owners, not everyone loves your dog and some even hate your dog, that's their choice. I have owned dogs, my son has 2, and I've enjoyed their company and the fun and pleasure that they give but I really do despise the owners that flout Club rules.

Best CL in UK

We have been visiting this lovely site since it first opened, seen the site develop into a very attractive and well kept CL. It slopes a bit but Donald and Cynthia have supplied plenty of timber for all. The Sunsets are spectacular. Local pub has great food and plenty of very friendly regulars who always talk to you, had some very interesting stories over the years. Just got back from a week away and watched the new calves being moved up the lane to the top fields. Will be back later this year.

Recommended Somerset CL

We first stayed at Hill Farm six years ago and have returned on a regular basis, at least twice yearly. It has the most wonderful views over the Somerset Hills where you can sit out watching the evening sun go down. Donald and Cynthia are excellent hosts, and you soon become friends. It is a stock farm of beef cattle and sheep which add much interest when they come down the lane aside the CL site. Bob the collie will come and visit you, together with Archie the cat. Although as its name, Hill Farm, the site is slightly sloping but even as motorhomers this presents no problems.

Lovely CL

We had a short stay in early October. We were very lucky with the weather and the views were indeed lovely. Donald was very friendly and helpful, even leaving us some field mushrooms to try! We ate at the Windwhistle Inn, about 5 minutes away by car, and the food was excellent. We plan to go back to Hill Farm.

A Great CL

What to say that the other reviews haven't said. Certainly an interesting approach up the drive but then the view hits you. It is stunning. A lovely warm welcome and beautiful sunsets. We were there in late September and there were also plenty of blackberries and field mushrooms. The site has a slight slope which might present problems with very long vans but otherwise this is a great CL and we would definitely return if we are ever in the area again.

Best CL in UK

Been coming to Hill farm for the last six years such a stunning site with superb hosts Donald and Cynthia. Always a warm welcome plus  the local pub,  Dinnington Docks has been consistantly excellent, great food and another warm welcome. Seen some of the most spectacular sunsets from the site, and some very cold frosts can,t have it all!!!

One to return to...

Lawned site with wonderful views and very friendly and helpful owners - grass kept short too. Need to keep the hedge height in check though to preserve that eye-watering panorama! Definitely will be returning...
