Dire facilities

We booked 3 nights here. The guide book says there are shared facilities -shower/toilets, and a bar/restaurant. The site hosts more than just the 5 club pitches. It has a massive camping field in addition. All of these pitches plus the day fishers use these shared facilities. There are 3 portaloos near the entrance (one is a "ladies" loo, the others are mens). Although a plumbed in loo rather than a chemical toilet, these were very much a "festival" loo with the sights and smells to match. Further down the site there is another set of 2 portaloos which my husband checked out and said they were reminiscent of "that" scene in Trainspotting... The shower is one solitary portaloo style cubicle. It didn't appeal. The bar/restaurant has closed down and looks as though it has been shut for some time. The lakes are pretty, although I'd say the scruffy gravel and weed pitch let it down. There are near constant low altitude aeroplanes overhead. I guess I should have realised this would be the case from the location. We left without staying a single night.
