Great CL

Great CL for visiting Chester, hardstanding pitches located in a large picturesque orchard There is a bus stop outside, and a cycle way that passes through Chester en-route to Connah's Quay. Great pub in the nearby village a 15 miunute walk away. The owners Phil and Jane are nice friendly people. Slight road noise from the distant dual carriageway depending on the wind direction.

Perfect country site for city break

Jane and Phil will welcome you their old heritage apple orchard with sites scattered between the trees with plenty of grassy space to spread out. No EHU or HS, however, owners are planning to install both over the coming season. Perfect for exploring Chester and and it’s Roman history. Great for shopping and eating out. Plenty of walks and cycle tracks nearby. One of these leads down the old railway line to the Meadow Lea Farm Coffee shop on Station Lane - great stop for coffee, cake or a meal.

Really enjoyable stay

Good access for our 7 metre Motorhome Made very welcome by Phil while we filled with water before parking up. Pitched on a large flat grass field within a orchard with plenty of room for 5 units. Great location close to fully tarmaced cycle/walk into Chester

A Wonderful Week

We spent a week at Heathfield. It is very easy to get to as it is only about a mile to the A55 or M53. We were concerned about the closeness of the roads with regards to traffic noise but this worry proved to be unfounded. The site in an orchard, is a large flat field. Plenty of room for everyone. There are toilets but they are closed just now due to COVID. Phil was very welcoming, friendly and chatty, showing us round the site and giving us pointers to the area. Chester is in walking distance (about 30 mins) and a short drive takes you to the Wirral or into Wales. There are loads of cycle routes nearby. Would not hesitate to recommend this site and we will certainly visit again.

Convenient and pleasant location but rather noisy

This is a very pleasant site, situated in large field with fruit trees. The field had quite long grass and was pretty bumpy. Care needs to be taken to avoid turning an ankle. This is conveniently located in a quiet spot. However, the nearby dual carriageway meant the site was too noisy for us. If traffic noise bothers you (and we realise that for many this is not an issue) then you should take this into account. There is no division between the field and a working area with parked vans and equipment so families should be aware of this.

A good CL

Stayed for a saturday and will be going back when we want another quick/cheap night away. As it is very easy to get to from the M53, it also means that there is some road noise from it. This did not bother us, but it might some people. it is about a 2 mile walk into Chester (down Hoole Lane) and this road is quiet so relatively safe to cycle on

Lovely CL in perfect loaction

Stayed here May bankholiday. The site was easy to find and access. As we fitted a solar panel we wanted to use its benefits and go off grid so chose this site. Waste, water and toilet facilities clean and did the job. The orchard field was a huge for 5 Vans and you could literally go anywhere in field so plenty of privacy. We accessed the millennium Greenway cycle path that's just 2 mins from the site on bike which provides easy access to Chester in about 2.5 miles. Also just 5 mins down the lane is the bird in hand pub which was a really friendly place service good local ale. Downside was the cycle back uphill after a few beers. The owners Phill and Jane where really welcoming and flexible with us. We tried the farm eggs which where as fresh as they come. Will certainly go back when visiting Chester. Thanks Christian
