Great base for Cambridge & surrounding area

Stayed here for 6 nights in August. Directions spot on, entry and exit very easy onto private driveway and plenty of room. Call at house or the details are on a board if Andy & Sylvia are not in. Pitch anywhere and anyway you like. Flat paddock with several electric points (16A) so never too far away from a point. 4 separate water points in the paddock.  Well kept and clean toilet and shower with separate toilet nearer the house if the toilet/shower is in use. Lovely shower plenty of hot water (no extra charge). Grey waste and chemical points both have rinse points as well.  Recycling also in place.  TV signal very good, satellite signal good if pitched next to fence. WiFi added this year excellent signal and honesty box in information shed with suggested price of 20p per day to cover ongoing WiFi maintenance (better speed internet than I get at home on some occasions). Andy, Sylvia & family were away for most of our visit (so we missed the pot of tea and cup cakes on arrival ha ha). Andy's dad covered the CL for the duration and was very welcoming and knowledgable about the area.   The information shed has everything you need to know from cycling to dog walks to visitor attractions,WiFi password and details of when/how to pay for your stay plus games and puzzle boards Lovely dog walks direct from site (boots required when wet). Good cycling direct from site and very flat for those who prefer leisurely cycling like my wife. There is a bus superhighway from Cambridge to St Ives (14 miles) which can be used for cycling, walking and horse riding with a park and ride at both ends Ely is a must for a visit, try the walk round town and the river walk. A meal and or liquid refreshment at either "The Cutter" or Grand Central" right next to the river is very pleasant or Peacocks tea room. St Ives is a lovely place to visit and of course Cambridge, use the park & ride at Milton £1 to park and £2.70 return on the bus per person (dogs are allowed on the bus).  First visit to this area, won't be the last and I would definitely recommend this site to anyone visiting the area as it is well placed for all areas to visit and ticks all the boxes you would expect fro a well run and well cared for CL. Thank You.
