Harome Heads farm.

Lovely site, views and owners. Only downside was no washbasin in the toilet. We were allowed to collect a box of "windfalls" in the orchard. Would definitely go there again.

Well worth a visit

Once we arrived (avoid York if you can) we were delighted to find this little gem set in an old orchard and received a lovely welcome. Although a farm there is little evidence of it from the site so if you were looking for one you will be dissapointed. We walked into Harome (about 1 mile down a country lane) and were delighted to find a pretty village. The Star Inn (check out the web site) is well worth a visit - the beer was wonderful. We also walked around the area taking in other villages always down quiet country lanes and public footpaths. Helmsley is a lovely find and the market was all you would expect from a North Yorkshire town, however, it was very busy and jammed with traffic. The only drawback to this CL is the narrow lanes you have to use to access it - meet farm traffic coming the other way at your peril. This site is well worth a visit and would visit again if in the area.
