Ease of arrival/welcome

Lovely well laid out site

When we arrived we were the only ones on site, the owner Paul popped over to make us welcome and gave us some pointers. The site is a credit to Paul, the hard standings are well spaced out, clean and have EHU points to each pitch and shared water tap between 2 pitches. The info hut is full of places to visit, and the recycling and chemical toilet empty point was clean. Just perfect for the price of the pitch fees. We found the roads appalling around the area and even worse as you venture through the estate to get to the site, having said that, the roads around were not brilliant with some roads suffering severe subsidence, you would pay good money to get rides like this at an adventure park. We looked out for local public footpaths, direct from the site, but found none. (they maybe around, but no obvious signs). Many review comments have said it is peaceful, but sadly, we were subjected to local dogs constant barking from the houses down the road, all day from 07.00 until 23.00, we also had the screams of children from the school and heard the teachers shouting too. Then to top it all the RAF decided to test fly overhead, we did get some peace on the Saturday and Sunday though. Hence the 1 star rating for peace and tranquillity, (I know this is not the owners fault but I can not complete the review without stating what we experienced) If the roads and surrounding noise is improved then we would certainly be returning, but sadly not at the moment.
