Gem of a CL

We stayed here for three nights last week. We received a very warm and friendly welcome from Zoe as well as half a dozen free eggs. The site is very well kept, with grass mown and clippings collected. Lovely views across the valley. Ryedale sheep, pigs, hens and ducks to watch which adds to the enjoyment. Zoe and Howard also supply their own sausages and bacon, which are delicious. The facilities have EHU and water on each pitch. The recycling and information provided is excellent. The gates are kept locked which gives you peace of mind for security. The entrance is easily accessed off the road with a good pull in space. There is a dog walk which is also kept mown down to a wildlife pond and they’ve helpfully provided a dog waste bin down by the pond and a seat. Overall this is an excellent site. There is some road noise, but it didn’t bother us. This CL is in a lovely County with lots of interesting places to visit. However, we as Motorhomers did have a problem. It does state that the site slopes, which for caravans probably won’t be a problem. But the site does slope in two different directions, therefore for a Motorhome make it almost impossible to level up. They’ve said there are plans to level up a couple of the pitches, which should help in the future. Because of the slope situation, we’ve reluctantly had to award four stars rather than five.
