We'll be back

Great vista across to the North York Moors and the Hambleton Hills. The site has a tarmac track leading into it, so no problems with muddy tracks. The owners were very friendly and keep the site and the toilet immaculate. There is a slight slope to the site, but we were able to level a twin axle 'van across the slope without any problem. It's a good centre to tour from. We visited Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal one day and Brimham Rocks the other. There was a little road noise, but not overnight. We felt the local pub was a bit expensive (£8.95 for take away fish and chips) but found a great chippie in Ripon for around half of that! Definitely one we'll return to.

Lovely CL

Stayed for three nights over the weekend, lovely CL, gorgeous views and loads to do in the area. Owners are very friendly and helpful and site is very well kept, our only gripe is that the grass is not picked up after mowing and on a wet weekend it made quite a mess, however this would not stop us from returning.

Convenient CL

This was our second stay here, the first being about 6 years ago, it is still a lovely little CL, hedged on two sides but with open views to the East and Hambleton Hills.   One clean toilet, grass mown to a medium length.  Site has a slight slope.   Though the traffic on the access road is quite fast, it is not a particularly busy road, but take care when leaving with the caravan.   We stayed for 5 nights in mid September mainly to visit the Nidderdale Show in nearby Pateley Bridge. Had a meal in the pub in the village to which we walked across the fields.   Not as good as last time and quite pricey for what we had ( approx.£50 for a two course Sunday lunch for two with two pints, a tonic and a coffee).  Visited nearby Ripon, also Richmond, Leyburn, Aysgarth Falls and Grassington.  Best supermarket in Ripon, in our opinion, is Booths.  Would recommend to anyone wanting a site in that area.

Couldn't ask for more

I stayed here in the late early summer and was the only person here.  Lovely field, great view, sheep gently baa-ing in the next and a great walk over the fields the nearby village with pub and village fete.  spent the day in Harrogate. Very helpful and friendly owners. couldn't ask for more!

Peace and tranquility

A lovely stay on a lovely site. Mr.and Mrs. Stockil made our stay excellent.A well cut grass field slightly sloping but well drained clean facilities and a warm welcome made our stay. Ideal for Fountains abbey and Studley Royal,Ripon and Harrogate. We will return!

One of the best

An excellent choice of CL.  Everything extremely  clean and tidy. Owners very friendly and welcoming. Good location for lots of interesting places to visit. A lovely walk to the local pub. We will most certainly visit again.

A good choice

I have 30 minutes again to review this Certificated  Site - my previous lengthy review ran out of time and was scrambled.  I shall be very brief this time and boldly suggest that this small, compact, easy locateable, view enticing, very welcoming, tidy site is just the site for anyone who enjoys the wide open spaces of North Yorkshire.

Peaceful week away

Have just spent a week at this CL and I only have 1 word - stunning - . The location is amazing and there are terriffic views to match; rolling hills and countryside as far as the eye can see. The Cl is easy to get to from the road and we had a great welcome, nothing was too much trouble. The only downside was that as it had been raining and the site is on a slope, a 4 x 4 would have been useful to get us up the hill but I can't see this being a problem to all users if it is dry but there were plenty of people around to give us a push! Will definitely return.
