We used this CL for the first time as a stopover from Norfolk and what a gem. Stayed 3 nights but could have easily stayed longer. This CL certainly goes into our 5 star list for repeat visits. Its very peaceful and tranquil with a open aspect in a large, well maintained lawned field. It is also close enough to the village of Donington to walk, just over 1 mile, where there is everything you need. Pub, Coop, Cafe, Butchers, Bakery, chippy and even a Chinese! Excellent cycling from the CL as the roads are quiet, with very light traffic, if at all, and best of all very flat. Spalding is in easy cycling distance (approx 8 miles), getting there is mainly on the small rural flat roads directly off site. See OS Map for the perfect route, almost a straight path.
