First time visit

The site is easy to find, about 1ml off the A37, Yeovil/Dorchester road, by following the Goose Slade Farm brown signs. It was a pleasant surprise to find that it now has a couple of hardstanding pitches, as we'd had a few days of heavy rain prior to our arrival and were a bit concerned about the condition of the site field. However it still looked fine if we had wanted to pitch up on the grass. There are open views from the site, and the fun of watching the goose procession each day. There is a small dog walk adjacent to the site, but the lanes about are quiet enough for a longer dog walk. The nearest pub is in the village of East Coker and is about 1ml  away. There are many N/T properties close by, e.g. Barrington Court & Montecute House. Also Ham Hill Country Park is close by and well worth a visit if only for the extensive views. We only stayed 3 nights this trip but will definitely come back here again and do more exploring in the area.

LOVE THIS SITE

Visited this site past three years and enjoyed it every time.   Each time there have been improvements, this year being the outside toilets which are a bonus.   We enjoy the peace and views. Owners are very friendly and the shop/tearoom serves lovely cream teas.   Highlight of my visits are always the geese, which are herded in at night and out in the morning by sheepdogs.   A site to behold.

Damage to your waist line

This is a large rectangle of flat well mown grass bounded by a very quiet road, a railway line, a field and a car park for the farm shop. The welcome was excellent and had the shop been open over Easter rather than just an hour or so after we arrived my waistline would have been seriously damaged. The pitches were well spaced and the views in three directions were wonderful but we were the last of the six caravans to arrive and my view from the van was over to some barns and a caravan storage facility where there were about eight caravans. There were very clean male and female toilets in a building outside the shop so there was 24 hours access to them. While we were there it was a haven of peace and quiet but if the shop had been open I don't know how much traffic next to the site that would generate.

When you enter the car park be aware that you don't have to make the turn straight into the pitching area through the first gate that we struggled through. A few yards further on is another gateway that gives all the room you could wish for.

Great stop over!

We stopped here for one night on our way home from a weeks holiday in Bude. We had a 50th birthday party to attend in Yeovil. Great little CL, good shop & very helpful staff! Electric hook-up was good, water supply very good & there was adequate space for your bin bags. Would highly recommend this this CL to any member looking for a peaceful place to spend a night or two.

Love this site, will be back again

Just returned from our second visit to this site. Last year had the field to ourselves and loved the peace and tranquility. although the weather wasn't brilliant. This time the weather couldn't have been better, hot with a breeze. The open space and views are superb, and the geese and ducks gave us entertainment throughout the day. A really peaceful break. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely farm shop and interesting to see the geese

Good range of fresh food in the farm shop and very friendly staff. We bought our supper there and it was quite delicious. The site is next to the goose field but they are shut in the barn at night and not intrusive. In fact they added to our enjoyment of the site (along with the 2 goats). Nice and tidy site with great views.

Nice site, nice people

Made most welcome. Great having the farm shop and cafe on site. Although close to a road and railway line the noise was not intrusive. Easy access and nice large pitches with beautiful views.
