Stayed here as it is very close to family.
It is a very simple site with water and hookup, however we have stayed at many CL's and this was the worst.
Very run down, hard standing had some sort of black rubber underneath which was shredding and not easy to keep from traipsing into the van. The drinking water is right next to the sluice, not ideal. No bins anywhere, we stayed for 2 weeks and no-one seemed to know we were there
No welcome at all, in fact we could probably have stayed the 2 weeks and left, not sure anyone would have been the wiser, we went into the clubhouse to pay on the last day and they didn't know who we were !!!
Saying all this, there is plenty to do in the area and as a base for touring it is good.
Disappointing!
The site was scruffy and run down.
Access to water, grey and black waste was acceptable.
No bins available or not told where they were. Certainly didn't see any or recycling area.
The site being situated between the 2 courses was quite noisy grass cutting started at 6am.
Would not return or recommend unless you just want play golf.
We live next door to golf so are quite use to hearing the mowers but are not allow to start before 7am weekdays and 8am weekends.
Needs updating
The first thing is that sat nav takes you to the lane down the road so make sure your in the correct place as you wouldn't want to take a caravan along that lane.
The site is needing a make over it's not at all like in the pictures now.
The pitches are tarmac planings with weeds and fake grass. The surrounding wooden fencing is overgrown with brambles etc.
The pitch we were on had the electric box held to the post with a cable tie !.
The golf course its self is fine, the club house needs doing up inside and out. Communal showers and the only time I used the toilet, it was very dirty.
With some work and few trees and brambles cut back pitches cleaned up it could be a good site.

Not what it says on the tin
Handbook says exclusive loos and showers. Not so. Only facilities are in the clubhouse and only accessible when it is open. Whilst mens can be acccessed from outside (when door unlocked), ladies is only accessible through the bar which was a bit unnerving when they were all gathering for their daily round. Whilst ladies had shower cubicles (2 of) with shower curtains, the mens were communal showers. Only water we saw was by right by the chemical disposal and not that keen to use that for van when also used to wash elson out. Staff were ok but would not stay here again or recommend anyone else to stay unless of course you want a round of golf and they let outsiders play (we don't so didn't ask). PItches were dead grass - not quite sure why.
Little gem of a campsite
We loved it here! The site itself is ok, nothing fancy but everything you need. It was lovely and quiet at night, just us and an owl. The welcome from staff and members of the golf club was tremendous, within 5 minutes it felt like we had lived there forever. The beer was good and the Sunday lunch was outstanding. We'll definitely be back to stay again.
Urgent club review needed!
By far the WORST CL site we have been on!
Checked in by a man in the club house who when asked for a reciept had a tantrum and threw his pen across the bar because he couldn't find one that worked .
£18 a night for a muddy overgrown dangerous dirty site ..
Hard standing it says well that's if you can find it the site is so overgrown and neglected .
Water and toilet waste area's filthy!
No bin on site.
The only light on site above the fresh water and waste not working.
Dog mess not picked up.
The drive up to the site is not great and their is a path from the site to the club house where a trench has been dug with no warning signs for health and safety to be seen (accident waiting to happen)
Toilet and shower you have to go through the club house to get too , I was told there was a separate door but was soon put right by the kitchen staff that there wasn't.
We stayed booked for 4 days asked to pay in advance on the phone now we know why , we stayed 2 days and left.
Definitely not “Paradise in Wales”
We are leaving this site today (a day early due to weather warnings) the site is a totally neglected disgrace. The review left on 5/10/21 can not possibly be true as the 9 hole pitch and putt that was supposedly played on in that review is totally overgrown and I very much doubt that it’s been open all year. The only communications with staff was when we arrived and we called the “duty manager” to complain as the only vacant pitch electrics where being used by a resident staying as the 6th pitch so you where expected to share electrics via a splitter. He only told us lie after lie. If we hadn’t of had to pay in full for the pitch back in March we would have definitely turned around and left! I would recommend anybody not to visit this site.
Paradise in Wales
We always try to stay on CL sights, always quiet and peaceful. My wife encouraged me to look for a CL near a golf course, my hobby since retiring, and although we were heading to Scotland a slight detour to South Wales looked appropriate. Having booked in advance for 2 nights our plans changed and after a call to Glyn Abbey we were able to book an extra night at very short notice. On arrival we were greeted with smiles and nothing was too much trouble, we were shown our pitch and soon settled in, leaving time for 9 holes on the first day. The course is immaculate, all of the staff seem to take great pride in their work and nothing was too much trouble. I was able to fit in 4 more rounds of 18 holes, with the aid of a buggy which my wife faultlessly drove, enabling me to enjoy the game. All in all this is a first class CL and we will be back! Thank you to all the management and staff for making the start of our holiday so special.
Quiet and well positioned.
I note the other reviews regarding the upkeep of the site. We booked beforehand and arrived after 7pm but had no problems getting set up. We needed an overnight and this was ideal. The site was very quiet, out motorhome pitch was very level and the EHU worked without issue. Although we are sure there is more to see the trees provided excellent shelter. For us it was hassle free, tranquil and had plenty of space. It was a welcome oasis after the noise of Pembrey Motor Racing Circuit. We managed to empty the toilet but couldn't see the "drive over waste disposal" so I have removed a point.
