Excellent Value, Peaceful location

Immensely impressed by the detailed and documented arrival procedure. The site is supremely efficiently run and provides excellent value for money. Metered electricity is cheaper than the rate I pay at home. Large well spaced pitches in a very secure location on a well maintained field. As I prefer to do without mains hookup the site offers even better value. Open fields adjoin the site. No WC or showers suits me fine as I use my own facilities. Wanted to stay longer but site fully booked.

Nice weekend brake but with supprice of metered electricity

Arrival/ Welcome: prebooked weekend break, on arrivel at the site as directed left the unit and went to the farmhouse to collect security key, key was taped onto door with a printed instructions on how to pay for site and metered electricity. There was no contact with the owners of the site so had to find the facilities in the feild independently. Although not hard it could be an idea on the sheet that tells you how to pay for your stay to include where to find water and waste point (the waste point was more of a hidden spot in the corrner) Stay: the site had free to access wifi that had good signal, the site was a very peaceful and had open views of the rolling country. The weather was not the best and the wind at time got very strong (shaking a twin axel van with all legs down) although the owners have no say in acts of god this may be something to remember ie it is an open field so open to the elements. The hookup available was on a pay as you depart meter although price was not to bad (2 nights in autumn with heating on cost £11.50) i feel this should have been informed prior to arrival as didnt budget for extra cost on top of the £11 pn with electrics as shown on the website. Ideally the pricing diagramme for the electric would be added to the images of the site as a heads up / be informed that the electric is on a meter on booking. I accept that there is merntions of this in other reviews but didnt spot myself before going so needs to be made clear as otherwise appears to be a hidden charge. Exit: was delayed due to high winds and trying to break down, went past midday and had no contact with the site owners. the only observation i would make is to lock the post and return the key i had to block the road while walking back to the farm house due to the size of the unit and tow car, would there be any option to have a post box near the sites like the one for house mail for you to drop the keys into if paying by bank transfer (as we did) or have a area to pull into while returning the key. this may seam a long review but wanted to give my full opinion key points are - nice site - peaceful and lovely views - metered electricity

Perfect

We are currently here at the site , can't tell you how good it is to be here , so peacful and quiet we wake up to see sheep in field , and a kite gracefully gliding in the sky ,the site is clean secure and private . . I love the quaint way of collecting our envelope from the front door with our name on , working out small amount of electric used , and posting through letterbox , Mr Webb is very efficient when booking , quick to reply .i can't say enough , it's so perfect .

Return visit ~ Disappointing

We have visited this site several times when caravanning and have always been very pleased particularly with the quiet and tranquillity. Unfortunately on our last visit we were disappointed to realise that of the 5 vans there 3 of them were 'long stayers' . One of the caravaners in particular was quite noisy on several occasions plus when her children came to visit it was even noisier with the children enjoying wasting water whilst playing for ages with the hose pipe meant for drinking water. This did seem a shame as we all know what a precious commodity water is. By the end of our stay we were the only 'short stay' holiday people there , the other 3 vans were 'long term', One of the caravans told us they were staying until August , whilst switching from Glebe Farm and the back to Rectory Farm; thus making availability less for the 'ordinary' caravaner.

A pleasant site

We have just had 4 days here, and we were very comfortable. Nice lawned grass, trees around for shade if needed, but still plenty of sun and view across field to countryside. Spitfires etc flying over, plenty birds. Easy routes via back roads to Sywell country park, Pitsford reservoir, Billing (aquadome, garden centre, walks along Nene). Metered electric only £2.50 for our stay. A fair way to do things, otherwise owners may feel they have to charge a much larger fee to cover their costs.

Slick Automated CL in Northamptonshire

We stayed at this CL for 8 days before Easter 2016. I booked by email upon arrival there was an envelope for me pinned up at the farm house this contained a key for the CL security post and full instructions how to read meter a chart of costs per unit how to work out electricity used. After your stay you read meter and put your rent and electric costs in a post box on the drive before you leave. We did not see the owners all out 8 day stay. Our electricity cost for 8 days was a reasonable £17 it was a cold stay in March and we did use the heating tho not over night. The CL is quite flat however the lane down to it is quit narrow if you have a large unit there is little space to park without blocking the neighboring CL entrance while you walk down to the farm to pick your welcome pack up. On the whole its a good CL as I said its pretty much automated at £10 PN +reasonable EHU costs if you need to be in this area its worth giving this one (or next door Rectory Farm a try. Just a note the Wi Fi here is a bit hit and miss but its "FREE" so no complaints there.

A cracking C.L

This is a lovely site - all very organised. We booked by email and received confirmation and directions by return. On arrival, there was an envelope at the farmhouse with a key to the security post at the site entrance and all other instructions. Electric is metered but it is very simple to read the meter and pay the tariff - it cost us only £1.50 for two nights so it is not expensive. We did not need to use levellers and we had a good sized pitch. There are no toilet facilities but everything else was catered for. Walk down the country lane and catch the bus into Northampton or Kettering - runs hourly. There is also a pub serving food nearby and you can walk to the shop which is not too far. A great stay. Paid using the honesty box.

Excellent CL

This is an excellent CL. The site is a generous size , predominantly flat with no restrictions upon where to pitch. Views are good and you may be able to watch the local cricket team whose pitch is located in a nearby field. The cricketers cause no disturbance and neither do the small number of very small planes taking off from the nearby airfield. Costs are extremely modest and we commend the owners for their method of charging for electricity based on meter readings, which is very fair - indeed the electricity costs are far lower than most other sites who use pre=paid cards or coin meters.

Glebe Farm

This was our first visit to CL or 5van site, and what a great start. Very nice and peaceful site with lots of space, no restriction where to pitch with plenty of electric hooks ups, The grass was very neatly cut and the site was well presented. The entrance had a locked security post which you were give a key to upon arrival. You read your own electric meter so you only pay what you used, we where the for 5 nights and only used £2.50. If you are visiting the site for the first time the entrance is not that noticeable, its directly opposite Ecton Lane. If you like good pub grub at good prices try the Overstone Manor, it can get busy and when we were there the bar staff were not the most proficient, but food great value. All in All fantastic site pliantly of space with great views and stunning sunsets. Will defiantly be returning.

Nice site

A pleasant site with nice views, you do hear lots of small aircraft flying overhead now and again from local aerodrome but quite pleasant. very good to take kids there to see them at sywell aerodrome, you can have a drink there and a meal. Also went to Althorp house which was a grand day out. Will go to Glebe farm again.
