Seeing that there are no very recent reviews I thought I'd add one. Everything as described by others really. We stayed for 3 nights in July 2024, and were the only van on site for those particular days. Coincidently coincided with the dates of the Royal Welsh Show, which was very much worth visiting for the day.
Very happy with all aspects of the CL. It's quite a basic toilet down by the farmhouse, but very welcome to have the use of it.
Simple site in beautiful surroundings
Spent eight wonderful nights here in August 2022 with surprisingly warm and dry weather for Wales. It's the first time we've visited this part of Wales and it really was an eye opener with beautiful scenery but not over whelmed with tourists.
The site has the basic facilities plus electric hook-up plus a basic toilet at the farmhouse. It's a large site but the electric points are all down one side so an additional cable may be helpful if you need to spread out a bit.
There's excellent walking and cycling all around including the Waterfalls walk and mountain bike trails just a few miles up the road at Cwm Rhaeadr Forest.
The Llyn Brianne Dam & Reservoir further up the valley is also worth a visit and a drive along its eastern coast.
As always I've made a video of the site which you can watch here.

Peaceful
We have just returned home after 10 nights (£15 per night) on this site. It must be the most peaceful site we have ever stayed on in over 40 years of CLing. Yes its a working farm - dogs on a lead at all times and we have never seen a couple work so hard 24/7 yet still have time to chat.
There is basically no phone signal but with an aerial and dongle you will be ok if necessary.
Slight slope, but levling blocks would sort it.
Lovely site and area, thoroughly recomend it.
Sadly could not the Chinese in Llandovery and the Co-op low on some products, but the town is worth a visit, excellent bakery, a wide range of cafes, pubs and shops - local pub good.
Enjoy.
1st trip of year
Arrived in the dark , never the best time to arrive on an unfamiliar site , but got sited and set up with the help of the farmer.
A hidden gem of a site , set on a working farm , with great views, and walks . The only down side we had was the cloud cover over the weekend as it is a perfect place for star gazing , with little to no light pollution.
Will definitely be back fingers crossed no clouds..
Lovely
Spent 6 nights here in December / January and, although the weather was very wet and we couldn't use the site field, we were on the only hardstanding which was perfectly adequate.
The views were amazing wherever you pitched rain or shine.
Lovely walks from the site.
Owners were friendly and helpful but not in your face!
We didn't want to leave.
We will return!
The site field is immediately on your right when entering the farm track, don't make our mistake of continuing through the farm!!

Peace and quiet with beautiful views - shared with sheep
Perfect for us. We like peace and quiet with beautiful views and that is what we got. The only sounds were the sheep and a red kite calling. A very spacious field and even when there were five vans we were far apart from each other. A perfect centre for visiting the Brecons, Llyn Brianne, the wonderful Elan Valley, and the coast. Its just grass and is slightly sloping. The approach is easy even with our 7m caravan. We had a very enjoyable stay - without phone interruptions as we had very little signal “GREAT” ! If you like a quiet place and to feel as if you are in the middle of nowhere - when you really aren’t - this is for you.
A wonderful place to be
My first outing in my campervan since March and my first stay at a CL. It was wonderful. The valley is so peaceful. A warm and friendly welcome from Carolynne, and directions to the bins, water point and waste point, as well as pointing me in the right direction for some great walks.
The weather was stunning, which no doubt helped, but I am sure even on a rainy day this site would be a lovely place to be if you are seeking wonderful views, peace and immediate access to amazing walks. There are so many options for walks directly from the farm my dog and I were spoilt for choice. It is a working farm so there was no option for my dog to be off his lead but wasn't a problem, he certainly got his exercise, as did I, on our many walks.
I had no phone or internet signal from the campsite but a short walk up the nearby hill allowed me to connect to 4G. It was actually rather refreshing to be disconnected for a few days.
I needed leveling blocks on the site as it is slightly sloping towards the back where most vans were positioned.
I would definitely return to Glangwenlais Farm.
Heavenly retreat away from the coastal crowds
At the price of £12 July 2020 it was just the excellent value we would hope from a CL.
We had a wonderful restful 5-night break For the first time away since March with all the Covid restrictions. The campsite is in a large field on the right as you enter the farm driveway with 2 main electric outlet posts (enough for 5 caravans on a CL) at the top of the field . The drinking water tap is positioned near one of the electric points halfway down the field and the waste point pipe is flush with the ground at the bottom end of the field (No need to lift tanks up as in so many places and easy to empty :) ) Rubbish is collected in 2 bins near one of the barns at the farm. Hand sanitiser is placed at all 3 locations. The farm yard itself is clean and tidy.
Carolyn and her husband were very helpful and we even brought some Texel Blue and Zwartbles sheep's fleece from them for crafting.
Llyn Brianne reservoir is well worth a visit and you can walk around the reservoir on a maintained service roadway from the car park. It would be possible to cycle on this if you lifted your bike over the locked vehicle gate.
RSPB Gwenffrwd-dinas) which is even closer is a must to walk along the river’s edge in places and there is a lovely board walk there as well (board walk has some steps but Ok for pushchairs but not wheel chairs). For those who want to do the full circular walk it is a about 75 minutes, with an additional branch off to see the cave of Twm Siôn Cati - the Welsh Robin Hood character. The car park is small and there is an honesty box for payment for non RSPB members - £1 on the faded sign.
Cwm Rhaeadr Forest – (Welsh for Valley of the Waterfall) This is even closer still just down the road. It has many walks including a ¾ mile walk accessible for wheelchairs, 2.5 mile moderate walk to a waterfall and a 6.7 Km grade rad mountain bike trail. Sadly during July the forest was closed for logging work.
The beautiful rural setting with its splendid views over the countryside makes this a place we will certainly visit again!
Peaceful
We stayed 3 nights on this site and i could not fault it, was very peaceful with great views .
never did find rubbish bins but this was a small point to an other wise great restful 3 days .
Visiting daughter in Lampeter
Others have said this site is on a slope. I would say it is more uneven. This is a beautiful part of the world and the views from our van were quite stunning. The site is very basic, hook up, toilet with no light or sink, chemical disposal and water from a standpipe. However for £9/night I am certainly not complaining. The owners were lovely, easy going and have a gorgeous well kept farm with lots of friendly chickens. There are some wonderful walks right up into the mountains and although we didn't make it this time the pub in the near by village (walking distance) has great reviews. We came here to visit our daughter who is at University in Lampeter which is half an hours drive through some lovely countryside. We had a marvelous relaxed time, however a word of caution, the field was quite soft and marshy near the back and at times of heavy rain I imagine that it could get quite boggy but please don't let that put you off as it is a delight.
