Hardstanding for caravan, awning and car separated from next pitch by short cared for grass. electric hook up and tv points water and waste area just by entrance with bins. toilet and chemical loo waste area just inside barn opposite No showers but we no problem for us as we happy to use vans. Highly recommend this CL one of best been to .

Good access to Clapham & various walks

We stayed for 4 nights at Giffords at the end of May 2017. We concur with the previous reviews – a super CL, all hardstanding with EHU close by and front row views of Ingleborough [in the foreground] & Pen-y-Ghent [in the distance]. One review states that there is a pot wash in the open barn but that is actually the Chemical Disposal Point and I think the wood blocks were the owners firewood!! The site is actually on the border of the Yorkshire Dales & the Forest of Bowland and thus you have access to two different areas. One minus point [which is really no fault of the site] is that it is about 1.5 miles south of Clapham village itself. Thus, if walking into the Yorkshire Dales and not wanting to move the motorhome, you needed to add on 3 miles to your intended walk distance! Clapham has a community shop & pub, so you are well served with refreshments post walk. Overall a great site with friendly & obliging owners.

Autumn weekend away.

This was our second visit to this CL and we found it as good as the first. The autumn colours as the trees changed were lovely. As before, we found the site quiet and with an easy level pitch to drive straight onto. In Clapham itself we tried the small cafe and bar attached to the bunkhouse. Great cakes and tea and we saw plenty of people tucking into reasonably priced breakfasts. It was a friendly place that welcomed muddy walkers and cyclists without any fuss. We also made a visit to Growing With Grace which is an organic whole food place just outside Clapham. A quick five minute detour on foot as you walk back from Clapham to the CL. The range of fresh vegetables and whole foods was great and we picked up a large and reasonably priced bag of very fresh salad to have with supper. Worth the quick detour!

Cramped and 6 vans

Great location and big pitches but there are 6 in total .These are always used. It is far too small for 6 pitches and against rules. There are also 3 statics and 1 seasonal pitch van between the site and the toilet. Owners were not very welcoming.

Lovely site

A gem of a site - quite busy though - owners were friendly and let us chose whichever pitch we wanted. Very poor TV signal, which didn't bother us at all! Lovely view of the train line. Not the best of sites for dogs as there were lots of sheep outside the site most of the time. Which meant morning and evening walks were very much on lead. Very easy access to get to the site with a good wide road. Clapham village is about 3 minutes by car but has the best village shop ever - the sausages and bacon were excellent.

A fantastic site

What a great c/l ,large hard standing pitches with fantastic views towards Ingleborough. We received a warm welcome dispite the pouring rain and the lovely owners helped when we had wet bedding due to a water seepage. This site is a real gem we shall certainly return. l

Simply a gem of a sight

We stayed on this site 02/06/2017 till 09/06/2017and knew the moment we pulled up we had found an absolute gem if the truth be known we shouldn't really be sharing this information however, we simply could not do this to the wonderful owners Brian & Joan who were extremely welcoming and friendly. The location and views from the site were amazing not even the weather could spoil it for us. The entire site is simply immaculate in every way including the shared toilet. Not only are lots of leaflets available they have details ,on local markets Brian & Joan were also a wealth of information about the local area. Would we go again without a doubt we are in the process of booking for next year only a shortage of holidays is preventing us from going again this year.

Absolutely Beautiful

We stayed 17th April to 23rd April 2017. What a lovely site!!! There is easy access only being a mile from the main road as well as a good size entrance to site, so no worries about scratching the sides of the caravan. And then you see the view!! A valley, a railway track and views of Ingleborough. Great for walkers and the pub is about a mile away in Clapham (Real ale and good grub). There is a toilet on site and the pitches are all hard standing (Gravel) So don't forget your rock pegs if you are taking an awning. If it is a must for you to watch your television the reception is only average. There is a booster aerial you can plug into and we found we got an excellent picture on the channels we could receive, but we were their for a holiday and were not there to watch TV. Excellent site and we hope to go back soon although we live over 140 miles away

A quick walking break.

We chose this CL as it is less than 90 minutes from home and we wanted to walk in an area that was new to us but that would allow a 'quick break'. This is a lovely CL. The owners are very welcoming and this friendliness extended to the caravan 'next door' where a fellow club member offered us the loan of a map. The site itself is pretty much level, all hardstanding and has the most tremendous views. It was close to the railway line but this doesn't disturb the peace and offers opportunity for local transport around the area. It is possible to walk into Clapham in just over 30 minutes and from there we walked up Ingleborough, returning via the Pennine Bridleway and the limestone pavements. This return route is not as popular as other routes and so we pretty much had the moor to ourselves. The New Inn at Clapham is a great stop for post walk refreshments before the walk back to the site. Fortunately no hills on this section! Without doubt this is a CL that we shall return to. Thanks for a really good weekend.

Excellent CL

What an excellent CL, all pitches are hard standing with lovely views, there were 2 new born lambs in the field just feet away from our Motorhome. You can walk directly from the site onto the Moorland and it is a nice half hour walk into the pretty village of Clapham , various walks start from there. It was our first visit to this CL but certainly will not be our last.
