Ease of arrival/welcome

June 2024

Final approach to this CL is very straightforward, with the site entrance at the top of the field after a short uphill track off the roadway. What determines the pitching here is the electrical distribution outlets, as these run sequentially down one side - leaving the rest of the grassed field open/unused. On our visit not all visitors had thought too carefully about their use of space, hence to access the one remaining electrics point left meant us squeezing in between other outfits - at considerable compromise to what is considered safe. The owner was apologetic - but cannot see each arrival in personally. It’s a lesson to all of us to be aware of the way we use space efficiently when we pitch. There is a gradient on this field as mentioned by other reviewers, but a manageable gradient, so with normal levelling wedges blocks you can get level. The grass was meadow length, and well controlled. Though the grass was wet we didn’t have any traction difficulties. The site surroundings are well sheltered and quiet, with just a little awareness of distant road noise. Water, waste and disposal points all accessible and functional. A site to recommend !
