We had booked the Fowey CL Site for 16 nights during April. We did so because, like many other people, we own a modern caravan and only needed electricity, water etc. Because we had not been to a CL Site before we were not exactly sure of what we had let ourselves in for so as we drew closer to the site our anxiety levels were high. On arrival and with the engine stopped we immediately noticed the quiet of our new surroundings disturbed only by the sound of birdsong and a gentle breeze. Our name clearly written on a sign assigned to a pitch was a clear note of welcome. Indeed as we were pitching, the owner of the site arrived and introduced herself. She was really helpful and friendly enabling us to settle in very quickly. We were amazed by the free wi-fi which could be used on a number of pieces of hardware as well as the plumbed in water, negating the use of a water barrel. The hard standing was level and gave room for our caravan and a 2.5metre awning. The big rubber mat, which was on every pitch, turned out to be really useful for the removal of boots etc. From this fantastic location we enjoyed many walks and visited a good number of gardens and National Trust properties. No need for a car to visit Fowey which is one of the most beautiful little fishing villages we have come across. We recommend this Site and this area to anyone looking for a peaceful yet busy holiday and at the price of the pitch, you can’t go wrong. Thankyou Sarah and David.
