Lovely peaceful stay at Flinthill Farm.

Peaceful setting here. The most noise is from the munjacs and occasionally you hear the pigs. If you have the choice, pitch one is definitely the easiest one to level. Lisa welcomes you, tells you about the amenities both at the site and local village - which boasts everything including a couple of very dog friendly pubs. Lots to do in the area. Enjoy.

Another Peaceful Stay

We are just home from another stay on Flint Hall Farm. Lisa is so welcoming and will help with whatever you need. We were so lucky to have the site to ourselves and we cannot believe it was not full. The pitch has its own water tap and is flat with lovely views of the open countryside. The walks in the forest or down to the local village are beautiful. You could walk for hours in the forest and still not cover a quarter of it! Thetford is an interesting little town but there are so many places to visit very close by including the Bressingham Steam Museum. It really is a lovely area to visit and a really peaceful, welcoming and pretty CL. If you like Park Run - you will love either Thetford or Brandon on a Saturday morning. We will definitely return. Thank you Lisa for your welcome and all your work making the CL a lovely place to stay.

Lovely peaceful Bank Holiday

We had this site to ourselves for the Bank Holiday. We had very clear communications with Lisa and a lovely welcome from her. The site was easy to find and access. It's a simple and straightforward site at a decent price. The pitch was great and it was a real bonus to have water supply for each pitch. The loo facilities were convenient and spotless. Dog owners might find it hard to twist a restraining peg into the ground, so we used nearby tree trunks to anchor the long lead. The views were great and we could walk easily to East Harling (good lunch at the Nag's Head) and the forest. There is some presence of pig, which some will find more noticeable than others. I suggest visitors need to manage their expectations when pitching on a working farm. The road was far enough away not to be nuisance, although it's busier that you might think when looking at it. It's hardly the M1 though! Thanks for a lovely stay, Lisa.

Nice but some issues

Agree with the other reviewers about the good location, outlook and facilities. However we did have some issues. Unlike other reviewers we could definitely smell the animals. It was not too bad and you are on a farm so not a major issue for us but could be for some people. Our main problem was with the amount of flies. It was just about impossible to get in or out of the caravan without flies entering. As no one else has mentioned this I guess we were just unlucky, but for us it meant we left early.

Little Gem

This is a really exceptional site. At the time of visit we had the site to ourselves which needs supporting but even if full the overall impression is very favourable. Water pressure excellent to each site, and electric just easy. Sluicing was easy and waste bins very clean. If you really want a site that is truly idyllic, quite, peaceful and unassuming THIS IS IT. Dog walk on site was great and the surrounding area of woods and forest is great for the animals. Easy transport to well equipped local village, two pubs, fish and chips which doubles as kebab shop. Lisa was very friendly and helpful so if you’ve got a home or caravan you NEED to visit. 10/10. Peter and Terry

A Favourite Place

I live in South Leicestershire and have always liked the Norfolk/Suffolk area, having worked their in the 80's, the countryside and the area are stunning. Off the main track there are plenty of places to visit, forrest's, country walks and sight seeing places are many, even a racetrack if you are keen on speed. Flint Hall Farm is an ideal venue to explore all, we wake in the morning, open the blinds and have a good look to see what's about, I can guarantee you will see plenty of wildlife. Its a working arable and pig farm but don't be put off as the site area is located a distance from the animals, the hosts are a lovely hardworking family and I can't wait to visit again.

Peaceful site

We spent 3 nights at this peaceful campsite. The owners were more than accomodating and very welcoming. The grass was cut short and very neat. We could choose which pitch we preferred which was amazing as we like the most secluded pitch as our dog would bark when spotting passers by. The campsite is so quiet and relaxing and very near to Thetford Forest, which we visited every day to exercise our dogs. They loved it in the forests, as did we. Recommend if you like peaceful stays.

What an amazing little find

We were looking fir a site close to the Go Ape site to do the segway experience & come across this lovely place. It was absolutely perfect for us & our 2 dogs. Very peaceful & even though its on a pig farm the piggys are well away & there wasn't any smell. The lovely owners of the site kept us well informed of the conditions of the ground (we'd just had the wettest month on record) & where to park so we could have easy access on & off the field. There is a track for dog walking but the better walking is about a mile down the road where there's a wonderful heath. The roads around weren't the best to walk as quite busy. There's loads to do in the area. Snetterton race track is a few miles down the road, as is the world horse welfare farm & dogs trust. Plenty of walking in Thetford forest. We would highly recommend this little campsite & hope to return very soon.
