Little Gem!

Stayed here for 3 nights. Wonderful surroundings & well maintained site. The owner loves that sit on mower! Good access to towns of Bakewell & Buxton lots to visit if you wanted to or just enjoy the site & soak up the tranquil setting. Good access from the road although wide outfits need careful entry to the site through two stone posts. Really enjoyable stay.

Great site set in lovely surroundings

We missed the entrance when we arrived because a bush had obscured the sign but we saw it coming from the other direction, the entrance gate posts are a bit tight but if approached with care are ok.The site is beautiful and well kept and you can site anywhere you like within the length of your cable. We had a lovely 6 day break here and would not hesitate to return, lots to see and do within a 25 mile radius

Nice site could be excellent

The site is set in the grounds of Flagg Hall and its a nice site that could be excellent. The electric hook ups and hard standing pitches are close together so even though the site is 2 acre only a small amount part is used. I would return and recommend it. The lanes before the site are narrow and the entrance to the site is tight.

Does what it says on the tin

This was our first visit to a CL so we were a little nervous and also can't offer comparison to other CLs. As another reviewer has mentioned the access is a little tight between stone gate posts. The location is excellent for any of the activities the Peak district offers. As other reviewers have stated there is no mobile phone signal but we did manage to tune our TV in though occasionaly the signal was a little flaky. There is a weak wifi signal to be had if you are on BT Wifi. It comes and goes. The weather was wettish so we used one of the hard standings. The power hook ups seem to be 16amp which is good. In summary we would have no reservations about using it again.

Flagg Hall

We are frequent visitors here as its less than an hour from home so ideal for a short relaxing weeknd. No phone signal and no TV signal so be prepared. We find it very relaxing and other than walking the dog hardly move from the site. However Buxton is a 10 mins drive away if you do need anything. We have stayed here in deep snow and also with temps well below freezing without problems. A site we always feel at home on and normally a first choice for those where shall we go this weekend decisions.

Lovely site, with lots of space and choice of pitches

We took a two week stay there in August with the family. The site is larger, much larger than most other CLs we've stayed on, which is great for choices of where to pitch and also allowed the kids to go off and wonder off in safety. There are a handful of hardstanding pitches (level-ish!). The grass gets soft with lots of rain (which we've had in 2012), be interesting how well you'd get on or off after many days of heavy rainfall. The owner cuts the grass religiously and it looks like a well maintained lawn, which is great. Situated around 8miles from Buxton and a few miles to the two main roads nearby, so getting around is great. TV reception is none existent, so unless you've got a satellite system you won't get anything (glad we brought ours). Orange phone okay, O2 had no signal. This is a working farm, so you'll get tractors trundling up and down the lane next to the field, but we like this, keeps the kids entertained ;-) Would highly recommend this site to everyone who wanted to be based in this area. If it was close to us, be'd be regular visitors.

Relaxing

A very relaxing and peaceful site with plenty of room. Good walks from the site and not far from the Peaks in general. The Monsal Trail is good for walking and cycling. Plenty of places to visit in the area including Chatsworth House, Buxton and Bakewell. Be careful on your arrival, the entrance is narrow with gate post either side.

our first visit

This was our first visit to Flagg HALL and i hope not our last, there were plenty of spaces to choose from, but due to the bad weather, it was best to go for the hard standings, It was easy to visit places,The only thing to watch is the entrance to the site care required.
