Large pitches, beautifully kept, warm welcome. Perfect quirky toilet. A wonderful stay.
No question, deserves "best CL" status
We have just returned from a 5 day stay, initially we booked for three but storm Babet decided to visit the area. Everything has already been said about how good the site is, how good hard standing and facilities are, I would like to comment on the care and consideration given by the owners Justine and Archie.
From the second we arrived we knew we were visiting a professionally run top site however the genuine friendly welcome was superb with all questions re walking routes and cycle trails answered concisely.
Once it became obvious that the storm would hit, Archie asked us what we would like to do as all options were on the table, cancellation with no penalty, staying on site etc etc. We decided to sit it out on site and so we discussed wind directions and the best pitch to move the van to, all of this was no problem. We were in a fantastic sheltered pitch and felt nothing more than rain on the roof, we got out for walks every day in the woods and checked on the Dee every day which is spectacular.
Archie and Justine contacted us appropriately every day and because of the storms, offered grocery shopping if we needed anything also offering to get us fish and chips from Aboyne on the Friday night, this felt like staying with family instead of being visitors.
I dont usually rave on like this but these two lovely people deserve so much credit for everything they are doing.
Just Great!
Second stop on our trip. Lovely CL. Justine the owner is lovely, very welcoming and a hive of information. Spacious pitches in a huge mown field, hard standing for vans, water on each pitch. A lovely spot on the River Dee and much to see in the area. Easy access. Great walking for dogs and humans! The toilet building looks nothing but like a little palace inside.😀. There is some road noise during the day with the logging wagons, but not intrusive at all.A super CL for anyone wanting to visit Royal Deeside. Firbank CL
A Real Gem
We have just returned from a 3 night stay which was a dream. All has indeed been said already. This is a great spot for a quiet getaway. Nice and central for touring Royal Deeside. The special warm welcome from Justine and Archie made a real difference. The Simpsons will be back soon. Kenny for the ice cream van especially.
Best yet
On arrival we got a very warm welcome, the pitch was level with electricity and water handy. The field was large with a large oak woodland behind the pitches and pines on the three other sides. The toilet was described as `amazing' by another camper and it was. Insulated with a heater for the winter, Cleaning equipment and a library! Justine and Archie were very helpful and welcoming and rightly proud of the site. Plenty of tracks for walking and the river Dee cycle trail can be accessed a few hundred yards away. Plenty of places to see in the near vicinity and the nearby views are amazing. If we didnt live at the other end of Britain we would return often.

Spring, Summer …. Autumn
We stayed at Firbank Park for the first time in spring this year. We loved it. We returned to spend a week of long mid-summer days there with our elderly dog. The site is well placed for all that Deeside has to offer but is such a lovely, clean, well organised and spacious site we were quite happy to relax there. The oak wood behind the site provided a shady dog walk and we enjoyed a picnic on the bank of the River Dee literally across the road. I enjoyed longer walks in Glen Tanar and Muir of Dinnet direct from the site. We have had our caravan for 13 years and this is our favourite site so far. We are looking forward to returning later in the year.

No more to be said
Everything that needs to be said about this amazing site has already been said. I can only urge you to go and try it for yourself. We did, booked for 9 days, stayed for 3 weeks.
All we can do is look forward to the next time, hopefully it won't be to long.
Thank you Archie, and Justine, we had the most wonderful, relaxing time.
With our best wishes
Lin, Tony, and of course Scatty.
Just what we wanted.
Have just returned home after a week at Firbank Park, site is a fantastic addition to the CL group. Justine and Archie are genuine and friendly and have taken some time to plan and develop the site. They have gone to the expense of supplying water points and metered electric units to each pitch which is very useful to keep track of your usage in these times. A lovely clean toilet and easy emptying of chemical toilet and grey waste.
Justine and Archie helped us find some very nice cycle routes with local information about them. A lovely cycleway runs from Ballater and Aboyne so no need to use the car if you are fit and able, We cycled every day on our tandem as the roads and lanes are fantastic and very quiet with a selection of on and off road routes.
The weather was fantastic which they claim was down to them also. Will certainly return and we wish them well.
Never stayed at better CL
The best CL we have stayed at during our 7 years of using CLs. Stunning location, beautiful field, huge pitches and made to feel very welcome by Justine. We stayed nearly 2 weeks, went to explore somewhere else and came back for a further week - it felt like coming home. Fabulous walks from the site - a favourite was the climb up through the woods to Glen Tanar Estate and the Fairy Lochen walk.
We wish we'd booked longer. Everything was immaculate, lovely finishing touches like a communal tool box in the pristine toilet, and the amazing weather helped! Loved the area and the site.
Hope to be back next year, Justine!

Friendly Welcome
A lovely spacious flat CL with EHU /Water at each pitch, an added touch of a great well kept toilet and wash basin. Justine and Archie were welcoming and they are working to make sure everything is perfect for guests staying (with very little or no TV signal Wi-Fi would be useful). Wouldn’t hesitate in recommending the CL and would definitely return if in the area.
