We visited Fair View Farm and stayed 3 nights. We were supposed to stay longer but had to leave because the cattle in the adjacent barn were mooing night and day. We had visited this site before in January and had only heard the occasional moo which really didn't bother us. This time it was constant and as we left the owners son told us they were always like this between February and mid April. The owners were away and there was no way of contacting them, no answer phone or email. The son came along as soon as we arrived with a meter for the electric which we were not informed of. We were told only a couple of weeks before that the cost was £25 per night, no mention of a meter. We thought this was poor communication. That said if you went another time of year it is a great location with only the occasional moo and a bit of road noise. We probably won't return after this experience which is a shame as it is a lovely area.
Turned up after a rainy period but towed onto grass pitch by the very friendly farmer ! We loved this site as once settled in our Motorhome we don’t move it again so it was perfect for us and our 2 dogs as we were able to walk across the fields into Stockbridge and also straight down the path to Stockbridge downs N T
We had fabulous weather for March which was a bonus…we loved this site, such friendly people, lovely views and we will be back .
First time at Fair View Farm, lovely quiet CL. Despite torrential autumn rain we had a great time, visiting Stockbridge, the recently reopened Boot pub and the Downs. Owls hooting at night and pheasants & partridges run through the site. Thoroughly relaxing, thank you!
Two lovely sites, we've been here 3 times and used both sites. Both almost level, both peaceful, then one behind the small work sheds has super views, the other is very secluded and sheltered. Both have shade if you want it but are quite open. Satellite & terrestrial TV signals great. Stokebridge is only a short distance away and has all the amenities, from tea rooms to chemists and a co-op. Sometimes there is no-one about so be prepared to put your money in an envelope and through their letterbox - first house on the right
This is a convenient site for exploring the surrounding area. The site is fairly flat -useful for a motorhomer. It is surrounded on three sides by a hedge , which unfortunately obscures a rather nice view. There were several good walks for the dogs. The only downside is the traffic noise (mainly during the day) from the A30 which runs alongside the farm.
We chose this site as it wasn't too far from home and we wanted a trial run before venturing further. Easy access and the unmade track to the site is quite smooth. There is a single pitch at the end of the track which offers views over countryside, just before you reach the other pitches but these are surrounded by tall hedges. Mobile signal ok as is TV. Stockbridge is only a mile away with Salisbury about 25 miles. Tilshead caravans on the Salisbury road are quite helpful should you have problems.
Beautiful site with great walks direct from the site over Stockbridge Down
Very welcoming and helpful owners
If want peace and quiet with great views and a lovely village to visit this is the CL for you
