Well maintained campsite

Beautiful little site surrounded by hedging and well maintained flower beds. Lovely seating area with help yourself herbs and spotless toilet shed with details of lots of walks and pubs and the eggs from Sally’s chickens were yummy. Local pub only open for food Friday/Saturday but we had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Red Lion in Caston ( ask them about the secret passage from the church to the stone cross). Lots of peaceful roads to cycle on and we even made it to Thetford forest and the Pingo Trail from the campsite (there is a kissing gate either end of the trail so you do need to lift your bikes over and it is a bit disconcerting cycling along by the military firing range! Really enjoyed NT Oxburgh not so much the Water Gardens nearby. The only negatives to the site were the squealing pigs in the nearby farm which was a bit off-putting, but you are in the country and as nobody else has mentioned them maybe we were unlucky with the direction of the wind!

Well kept and peaceful

We had a weekend at this really well maintained site at the end of June. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. There is a little area of siting outside should you want to and a spotlessly clean toilet. Not sure if there is a shower, as we always use our own. We did some nice walks directly from site and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will be back to this peaceful haven.

Lovely cl

Just returned from this lovely CL. Lots of lovely birds to see, spent many times watching them in the trees. The site is beautiful and Sally works hard to keep it looking lovely, it is very well kept. Fresh eggs available, and wow they are so delicious! We had no problem with TV reception. This is a lovely site and it would be my first port of call for staying in the area.

Peaceful stay

A great week on our return to Elm Croft. Lovely lawned spacious site with flower beds behind the pitches and asparagus fields beyond the hedge. Lovely sunsets. Very friendly owner Sally whose chickens lay great eggs to buy. The site boasts an immaculate toilet and a garden area adds to the peace you will feel here. The village of Rocklands has a pub and community shop/post office and the lovely town Attleborough is 4 miles away for supermarkets etc. Wymondham similarly has good shopping and well worth a visit with the it’s mid Norfolk railway We spent time cycling the quiet lanes of the area and walking too. Highly recommended.

Perfect CL site

If you are after a quiet, peaceful place to stay then this site is for you. It’s a beautifully kept CL site with a clean toilet facilities and extremely well maintained plot of land. There is lots of room to ‘spread out’ and Sally and Ivan are great hosts. The site is a 25 minute walk to a well stocked community shop and a pub we are yet to try (I am allowed to visit that Saturday apparently!) It’s ideal for dogs as the walk to the village can be turned into a 50 minute loop on safe country lanes. It would appear anywhere in Norfolk is an effort to get to and takes time. So Cromer for example although not far away is a good hour and 10 mins drive. I was so relaxed here that even the 7am Asparagus pickers in the field next door didn’t bother me. I would highly recommend this site!

Great site

Just spent 5 nights at this lovely pretty country site. Can't fault it, the owners attention to detail is to be congratulated. Close mown with no large overhanging trees but secluded enough by hedging and shrubs. They have even provided a secluded little seating area (which we unfortunately could not make use of due to the weather) and a help yourself herb garden. The toilet is spotless and there is plenty of local information provided. Sally made us very welcome and is on hand for any questions you may have. Would definitely re-visit.

Just what we needed

Returned home this week after 7 nights at Elm Croft. The site is well away from the main road and is lovely and flat with well mowed grass surrounded by laurel bushes, various trees, shrubs, wallflowers and blossom which provided a variety of colour. This will be even prettier when Sally (the owner) has finished planting all the summer bedding plants. There is a lovely seating area with rattan furniture for guests to use, as well as fresh eggs from Sally’s chickens. We were warmly welcomed by Sally who is happy to share her local knowledge with you. The site has EHU, drinking water and Elsan point which are immaculately kept with hand sanitiser at key points. There is a toilet (again immaculately clean) which contains information on various walks, books, games, take away menus and general tourist information. The local village pub is a lovely 20-25 minute walk along very quiet country lanes. There is also a village shop and cafe within the shop. Wymondham is well worth a visit as is Attleborough which has a Sainsbury’s, Lidl and M&Co. Wells-next-the-Sea is about a 45 minute drive and just beautiful. Also Bressingham Steam and Garden Centre is worth a visit. All in all a great stay, the CL is an absolute credit to Sally, we hope to be back soon. Rob & Jayne

Great place to get away from it all

Just back from few nights at Elm Croft, a really lovely pretty site with excellent facilities and a warm welcome! Great area for walking on quiet country tracks and roads. Easy walk to the The White Hart Pub in the Village ... currently only open Fri, Sat & Sun. we also walked to Great Ellingham and had lunch at The Crown which was really nice but bit more pricey. Definitely worth a visit we will return!

Great CL site

We stayed at Elm Croft the first week of August 2020 in our Motor Home with Ted the dog, Elm Croft is an Adult only, very relaxing well maintained grass field site, with generous space between pitches (including electric hook ups) with the whole site is surrounded by pretty boarders. Toilet facilities were spotlessly clean with good varied information on the surrounding areas including a number of clearly identified local walks. Sally is a wonderfully informative hostess who takes great pride on her site (and rightly so!) and is often seen on site but never intrusive. There are the occasional "country smells" and "animal noises" from the local farms but nothing we found bothersome. We would highly recommend Elm Croft as a relaxing site in it's own right and also as a base for touring Norfolk.

Relaxing and lots of butterflies!

We had a lovely weeks break at this peaceful site. The pitches are spacious and there's lots of buddliea planted which attracted the butterflies, they landed on us quite often when we were sitting outside the caravan. The owners of the site are very friendly and helpful and keen to do as much as possible to ensure that you have a good stay. We enjoyed the fresh eggs. The village shop is about a 25 min stroll away. The roads are very quiet so good for cyclists. There are details of walks from the site are in the toilet block (one toilet). It was about 1hr 15min drive to Cromer and about 15/20 mins to Thetford forest. The village of Hingham has a great bakery and butchers shop and it's 10 mins drive away. Attleborough is a lovely little town too. We didn't visit any pubs or cafes because of covid. We just wanted somewhere away from it all and a change of scenery and this site gave us exactly that.
