Rang 50 minutes ahead to see if site had availability and they did. Photos on this page dont do any justice. The site is well maintained gravel/hardstanding pitches with grass areas. Toilet and hand wash basin spotless. The odd cobweb but nothing to worry about. Bottle of spray disinfectant and hand paper towels provided. Needed to take a toilet roll with you but for the price p/n whats a loo roll.
The site has chemical waste point, fresh water tap, waste facilities which accommodated recycling. Each pitch had ehu. Lovely dog walk available and the adjacent fishing lakes looked good.
Owners friendly throughout. We had a lovely obe night stay. So peaceful. Thank you. Highly recommend.
A wonderful but basic CL
We visited in March 2024 in a motorhome.
A very quiet CL tucked away on its own field behind a small fishery.
We were lucky to have it to ourselves for most of a week's stay, but it may get crowded if all pitches were occupied, as the field is quite small.
There are great walks to be had straight from the CL through what was once minor quarry workings, with a delightful stream running through, and pleasant fields beyond. We enjoyed our daily walk exploring the area, and so did our dog.
Facilities are basic, but were sufficient for our needs, as we always use our one toilet and shower. Disposal facilities were good.
The owner is a really friendly chap who is a mine of information on the area.
The site is great for exploring the Solway coast and thew northern lakes.
All in all we really enjoyed our stay and can recommend this CL to all those with similar requirements to us. We shall definitely revisit when we need a base in this area.
Peaceful Week in May
This is a very tranquil site set down a shortish track, there's a few shallow holes so drive slowly. All hard standing and well spaced out with good drainage. Surrounded by pine and deciduous trees, with the bonus of a nice walk for the doggets. Added bonus if you spot a red squirrel! There is an on site shower and toilet, perfectly functional and clean but tbh really needs upgrading. all in all thoroughly recommend.

A Hidden Treasure
A secluded and peaceful site set in a clearing of woodland and overlooking the fishing lake. This site is surrounded by the breath taking landscape of Cumbria's hills and open fields. Despite its quite location, it is only 2 miles from the center of Cockermouth.
All pitches have hard standing with plenty of of space between each pitch and the owners were very welcoming and friendly.
I will without doubt be making frequent visits to this site.
Beautiful tranquil site set in the most beautiful surroundings.
Absolutely beautiful couldn’t wish for a nicer quieter place. Owner very friendly & helpful & even brought us fresh farm eggs for our first breakfast. Shower & toilet very clean. For a CL site very good facilities. All the bins are set out for recycling & emptied daily, couldn’t fault it. Beautiful walks in the woodlands & around the lake & situated on the outskirts of the lovely village of Brigham. Ideally located site for visiting the Lake District & the coastal areas. Charges £12 per night for our Motorhome, well worth it. Will definitely return. Thank you to the owners for our lovely stay. See you again soon👍
Great little site with excellent fishing.
Stayed here foe week in June. A quiet site with shared facilities. Shower & toilet were basic but very clean with plenty of hot water. These are shared by anglers. The site is very well kept with plenty of space between pitches. The EHUs were well places - one per pitch. The bins, water disposal & fresh water were near the showers. Bins emptied every day.
10 mins walk to village shop that stocked everything we needed - fresh food, milk, tinned goods, beer, wine & ice creams. The meat from local farms was first class. Pity there's no pub now in the village.
I was there for the fishing & it didn't disappoint. Primarily it's carp @ bream water. The carp were spawning so showed zero interest in any baits whatsoever. In the 7 days I was there I didn't see a carp caught. I did catch lots of quality bream though, best at 6lbs 10oz. The carp were there but on the surface & wouldn't even look at floating baits.
A great week though & I'll definitely return.
The charges were £12 per night for me campervan including EHU plus £5 per day for fishing.
Highly recommended.
Hidden Gem
Only stopped here for a night as a starting point on the C2C cycle route. Its easy to find off the A66 and we were greeted by the owner on arrival. Its all quite self contained there is a shower and a toilet which were pretty clean and water and waste etc all within easy reach. Nice dog walk around the fields and its only 10 mins form Workington and Cockermouth. If your around in this part of the lakes it would make a good base for exploring the area.

Our kind of site
This lovely little site ticked all our boxes. Greeted by a friendly owner who gave us our own choice of pitches and showed us where the services were. All 5 pitches were hard standing and level with EHU. The pitches are in a lovely suntrap surrounded by a woodland dog walk and the only noise is birds singing. There are two fishing lakes which are very well kept and hubby says full of healthy fish. All in all this is a site we will definitely be visiting again
Another nice stay
Came last Easter & returned this year. Another relaxing stay amongst the wildlife. Improvements on the shower, toilet & entrance track. Ideal for western lakes & Cumbria coast. Freidly and helpful host. Will be returning.
Thank you.
7 days after Easter
The entrance track to the CL location is a little rough on the suspension but the site it's self is surrounded by trees & very quiet, with plenty of wild life. Nice walking trail to rear of site. The toilet is used by the anglers & their aim isn't that good & shower wasn't used by us so can't comment. Ideal location for west lakes & coast.
We would use this site again.
