Excellent CL but traffic noise

You can see why this CL has won so many awards: easy access, well laid out, extremely well maintained etc. Pros: all pitches enjoy open views across the fields to North Berwick Law (hill) in the distance. All pitches are hard standing and large enough for caravan and awning or car, but not all three at the same time so something has to go on the grass. We parked car and caravan on hardstanding and awning on grass because that is what we prefer, but the owners prefer awnings on hardstands. Extremely well maintained with the tidiest water and waste points I’ve ever seen: both on their own decked area. Owners strim the edges, trim hedges etc. The owners have mowed paths around the perimeters of two fields creating walks of 1 mile around one field and 1.4 miles around another. The second field includes an elevated wooded area with decking and views which guests are permitted to picnic at. CL has an information hut similar to those found in Club sites but includes a few other items eg BBQ for guests. Cons: caravans back onto B1377 which is a busy road. The speed of the traffic wafted our awning despite the tall/thick hedge between us and the road. But despite the traffic noise we will be using this CL again. And if you can’t do with the noise then you can move to the small site that the owners run. This is separated from the CL by a field and is further from the road, but nearer the main Edinburgh to London railway. The CL is very well placed for exploring Edinburgh and East Lothian. The National Museum of Flight almost adjoins the CL: it has a Concorde and is well worth a visit. If you are going into Edinburgh then do consider the train. Trains leave Drem station (3 miles from CL) every hour (times in info hut). Return is £6.80 (2014), parking free. Also consider the PlusBus add-on for £3 which gives you free travel on Edinburgh service buses and trams (normally £1.50 per any length single journey). The beaches at Dunbar and Gullane are worth a visit.
