A great break
This site is run by a lovely family and we arrived quite late in the evening. There are five level pitches on a steep site and I’d recommend top three if tv signal is important to you. Pitches are spacious with water to each pitch though watch for stinging nettles near the electric point in pitch three. There are two chemical waste drains. One at the top of the site one at the bottom. Recycling and bins are at the top of the site. The view is a field with horses and was pleasant. You are within good distance of many places as it’s only ten minutes to the M4 and the site is quiet. The toilet is basic and in a small shed but is kept clean. One great bonus is that for £6.99 a head the family will do a Sunday roast dinner which is lovely. We had beef with all the trimmings and fresh veg with extra gravy. Fantastic. Our only criticism is around access and exit for a big unit. It’s tight and you need to take care. On entry when you drive through the gate there is a fountain slightly off centre which restricts space. Also if there is also a family car parked to the left, the challenge becomes greater. Once you are through the narrow access by the house the site opens up. If I was the owner I’d remove the fountain altogether. On leaving we had asked the site owners not to leave a car to the right and thus made the exit much easier. However on turning on to the lane our caravan scraped on the ground on the right side as it’s quite a tight right hand turn on to the lane. You don’t get this on the way in. I’d widen the entrance and level the ground to improve exit. I say this not to be negative as this is a fine site for smaller units and motor homes. However for large units it’s a challenge. Ours is an 8 metre twin axle.
